Wang Neon - Xingjia Suspension Bridge The "Xingjia Suspension Bridge," as the name implies, is a suspension bridge that passes through Chiayi City. It was built in 2007 to facilitate the commuting of students and residents on both sides, funded and constructed by the well-known He Mingde Charity Group. This bridge connects Xing'an Village and Xingcun Village. The Xingjia Suspension Bridge features a 3.1-kilometer bike path planted with Taiwan Acacia trees. On the south side, there are the Riverside Sports Park and the Waterside Park in the Xingren section; along with the eco-trail, ecological garden, and religious wooden sculpture art of Cixuan Temple in the Xingcun section, it symbolizes the gradual formation of an ecological leisure space in the southern district of Chiayi City. Currently, to promote local tourism, the Chiayi City government has installed neon lights on the bridge, making the suspension bridge stand out at night, as if adorned with a long, sparkling necklace of luminous pearls, becoming a beautiful landmark of the city with its unique nighttime charm. Historical Trivia: The Xingjia Suspension Bridge is the 330th bridge built by the He Mingde Charity Group and is the longest bridge they have constructed to date. The funding and labor for its construction were completely completed by the group. The construction began on November 26, 2006, and was completed on September 23, 2007, taking a total of 10 months. The bridge is 297 meters long, 33.2 meters high, and 1.65 meters wide, consisting of a double-span and three piers. To ensure pedestrian safety and prevent the bridge from swaying in strong winds, steel beams and supporting wooden planks were laid during construction, with wooden handrails and steel supports installed on both sides. Additionally, to enhance the stability of the suspension bridge, special centipede-like steel cables were installed to secure the underside of the bridge.
