Rih Chiung Savory Pie

Chiayi Foods

In November 2016, two girls who studied in the Fine Arts Department returned to Chiayi City from their respective workplaces and opened "RiiQing Savory Pie" in a small alley in the city. The name "RiiQing" comes from the team's name created by the two avid mountaineers, meaning to pray for every day spent in the mountains to be sunny. With their background in fine arts, they have unique insistences on all the decor and design in the shop. Not wanting to adhere to any standard style, they personally painted the walls, arranged an array of small goods and cute tableware on the shelves, and decorated various corners with their cherished mini-models, allowing every unassuming little nook in the shop to reflect their dedication and creativity. The aesthetic of RiiQing Savory Pie cannot be categorized or replicated, as it stems from the boundless imagination of these two girls. Another commonality between them is their love for savory pies and scones. After tasting savory pies and scones from various places at home and abroad, they realized that the most wonderful flavor comes from the care and purity infused into cooking by mothers for their families. They decided to roll up their sleeves and dive into the world of flour and butter, aiming to provide all the friends who come to the shop with delicious, safe, and healthy food—just like serving family. Even though they once considered giving up due to the complexity of making savory pies, seeing the satisfied expressions of customers enjoying the food and experiencing the leisurely and relaxed atmosphere in the shop, savoring natural and healthy dishes, and genuinely embracing life and the present moment became the original intention of RiiQing. In the days ahead in Chiayi City, regardless of the weather, they will continue to serve warm and delicious meals.
