At nearly 35 years old, Chen Wen-hsing, who works for a food company, embraces his dream of entrepreneurship and steps into a perilous food forest. With no prior baking experience, he began by consulting with seniors and relevant teachers. After numerous failures and setbacks, he finally carved out his niche in the market after nearly five years. To highlight the uniqueness of his pancakes, Chen started developing "tourism market" pancakes, transforming traditional pancake shapes and flavors, always brainstorming creative ideas for new variations. Every weekend, he fills his stall with his products and sells them directly at tourist attractions. Over time, his pancakes began to gain recognition, and other vendors started purchasing from him to sell. This led him to realize that there was much more potential for his creative pancakes, prompting him to continue exploring imaginative ideas. From the "Panda Pancake" inspired by the popularity of Yuan Zi at the Taipei Zoo, to the "Rubber Duck Pancake" riding the wave of the yellow duck trend, he now offers customized pancakes for businesses. His intricate molds can accurately imprint QR codes, allowing customers to scan the pancake with their phones to access specific websites or social media pages. In addition to providing adorable, customized pancakes, Chen also designed a peach-shaped pancake exclusively for Chiayi City, inspired by Chiayi's nickname as "Peach City" due to its resemblance to a peach. This creation, named "Zhulu Peach," has even won recognition as one of Chiayi City's top ten local gifts. The following year, he continued to innovate by imprinting scenic views of Chiayi City onto pancakes, allowing tourists to taste the beauty of Chiayi in each bite. Over his ten-year journey in the pancake world, Chen has walked a path filled with challenges and obstacles within the food forest. He understands that even slight neglect in this competitive environment can lead to being overlooked. Therefore, he remains vigilant about innovation and improvement. As he looks to the future, he is committed to staying true to his entrepreneurial spirit, ensuring that each endeavor is met with determination and precision.
