Good Good + Manso Curry Introduction
Haohao House Slow-Cooked Curry invites you to enjoy a delightful meal and slowly savor the matured flavors. Chef Jasper has worked in various European restaurants and previously operated a small bistro in Taipei. After returning home to assist with the family grape orchard business, he was inspired to open a small restaurant in Chiayi, which led to the launch of "Haohao House," specializing in Southeast Asian slow-cooked curry, along with a friend who shared the interest. Jasper mentions that his favorite dish to prepare is red wine-braised beef. He fortuitously discovered the similarities between the intricate cooking techniques of Southeast Asian slow-cooked curry and braised beef, allowing for a delightful fusion. He incorporates his favorite spices such as cumin, cardamom, and cloves, along with many vegetables and fruits during the cooking process, resulting in a flavor that is rich, mildly sour, and layered, setting it apart from traditional curry. The beef is generously prepared using two different cuts; although it requires more effort, it offers the satisfaction of enjoying two textures in one dish. While Chiayi already has several curry establishments, "Haohao House" uniquely focuses on Southeast Asian flavors. The chef also recommends the newly introduced Southeast Asian chicken with fried wontons, a fragrant soup curry. Naturally, Jasper's expertise in Italian cuisine is also featured on the menu, catering to those who savor international dishes.
