Haohao + Man Shu Curry Introduction

Haohao Home Slow-Cooked Curry invites you to enjoy your meal and slowly savor the matured flavors. Chef Jasper has worked in several European restaurants and previously opened a small eatery in Taipei. Returning home to assist with the family’s grape orchard business, the idea of opening a small restaurant in Chiayi came to mind, coinciding with a friend's interest. Thus, "Haohao Home," which focuses on Southeast Asian matured curry, was established. Jasper says his favorite dish to prepare is red wine-braised beef, and by chance, he encountered Southeast Asian matured curry beef stew, which shares similar intricate cooking techniques. This allows for a perfect fusion, complemented by his favorite spices such as cumin, cardamom, and cloves, along with a variety of vegetables and fruits added during the stewing process. The flavor is rich, mildly sour, and warm with layers, distinct from traditional curry. The beef uses two different cuts generously, making it a bit labor-intensive to cook, but it allows diners to experience two textures of meat at once, providing a satisfying experience. Although Chiayi already has several curry shops, "Haohao Home" stands out for its focus on Southeast Asian flavors. The chef also recommends the newly launched Southeast Asian chicken with fried wontons, a fragrant soup curry dish. Naturally, Jasper’s expertise in Italian cuisine will also appear on the menu to satisfy diners who enjoy exotic dishes.
