Hao Hao + Man Shu Curry Introduction
Haohao's Slow Cooked Curry invites you to enjoy a good meal and slowly savor the matured flavors. Chef Jasper has worked in several European restaurants and has also opened a small restaurant in Taipei. After returning home to assist with his family's grape orchard business, he was inspired to open a small restaurant in Chiayi, coincidentally at the same time a friend expressed interest. Thus, "Haohao's," specializing in Southeast Asian matured curry, was born. Jasper says that his favorite dish to prepare is red wine braised beef, and he serendipitously encountered the concept of Southeast Asian matured curry beef stew. The intricate cooking techniques of the two are quite similar, allowing for a harmonious fusion. He complements it with his favorite spices, such as cumin, cardamom, and cloves. The cooking process includes a variety of vegetables and fruits, resulting in a rich, slightly sour, and layered flavor, setting it apart from traditional curries. The beef is generously made with two different cuts, which, though more labor-intensive to prepare, provides a satisfying taste of two textures in one dish. Although there are several curry shops in Chiayi, "Haohao's" stands out for its focus on Southeast Asian flavors. The chef also recommends the newly launched Southeast Asian chicken served with fried wontons, a fragrant soup curry. Of course, Jasper's expertise in Italian cuisine will also appear on the menu to satisfy diners who enjoy international dishes.
