Dumai Cuisine Introduction
"Domay Cuisine" is located in the beautiful village of Yanliao in Hualien, along Provincial Highway 11 by the seaside. It is a small restaurant featuring local indigenous flavors, reflective of the region's unique character. The charming couple who owns the restaurant settled here over a decade ago. With their combined talents, they have constructed this relaxing space by the sea, brick by brick. "Domay" means "bear" in the Amis language. In the past, bear sightings were common in Yanliao, and thus the Amis people referred to this area as domay. The hospitable owner often showcased her culinary skills when entertaining friends, and after opening the restaurant, she focused on indigenous-style dishes as well as home-style favorites commonly found in shared meals. She welcomes friends from afar to enjoy a meal in Yanliao but encourages reservations made via phone in advance! "Domay Cuisine" is personally crafted by the couple, and you can see the owner's driftwood creations both inside and outside the restaurant. The production team of the movie "Seediq Bale" even visited this place to purchase art creations from the owner. Moreover, the idol drama "Love Returns" chose Yanliao for filming scenes at local guesthouses, seaside views, and the restaurant kitchen, making it a fresh and exciting experience for diners!
