Qiqi Ridge Introduction

Chih-Chi Highland is a scenic spot that offers a 360-degree panoramic view. This area is named Chih-Chi Highland due to its elevation of 77 meters. It was previously a military control zone, and the access road is a narrow military road, surrounded by dense weeds, making it inconvenient for vehicles to enter. Cars can be parked at the entrance. Entering along the road for several hundred meters, you will come to an abandoned artillery position. Continuing a few dozen meters further, you will reach the northernmost vantage point, where there is an abandoned barrack. The second-floor platform serves as the best location to enjoy the surrounding scenery, overlooking the Hualien River's mouth, which is also the northernmost point of the Coastal Mountain Range. During the summer, it is important to be aware of mosquitoes, snakes, ants, or the risk of heat stroke. In addition, whether you are a photography enthusiast or simply appreciate beautiful views, Chih-Chi Highland is definitely recommended on any travel list.
