Qiqi Highland Introduction
Qiqi Heights is a scenic spot that offers a 360-degree panoramic view. This area, named Qiqi Heights due to its elevation of 77 meters, was previously a restricted military area. The only access road is a narrow military road, flanked by dense weeds, making it inconvenient for vehicles; parking is available at the entrance. After entering the road for about a few hundred meters, you will arrive at an abandoned artillery position. Continuing a few dozen meters forward will lead you to the highest point at the northern end, where there is an abandoned barrack. The second-floor platform of this barrack is the best spot to overlook the surrounding scenery, providing a view of the Hualien River estuary; it is also the northern end of the Central Mountain Range. During the summer, be mindful of bugs, snakes, and the risk of heatstroke. Furthermore, whether you're a photography enthusiast or someone who enjoys beautiful landscapes, Qiqi Heights ranks high on recommended travel lists across various criteria.
