Qiqi Highland Introduction
Qiqi Plateau is a scenic spot that offers a 360-degree panoramic view. This area is known as Qiqi Plateau due to its elevation of 77 meters. Previously a military restricted area, the only access road is a narrow military path with dense weeds on both sides, making it inconvenient for vehicles to enter; parking is available at the entrance. After entering along the road for several hundred meters, visitors will encounter an abandoned artillery position. A few dozen meters further is the northernmost high ground, where there is an abandoned barracks. The second-floor platform of this barracks serves as the best spot to enjoy the surrounding scenery, overlooking the Hualien River estuary; this is also the northernmost end of the Coastal Mountain Range. In the summer, visitors should be cautious of insects, mosquitoes, snakes, ants, or the risk of heatstroke. Moreover, whether for photography enthusiasts or those who appreciate beautiful views, Qiqi Plateau is definitely a recommended destination on any travel list.
