Qiqi Ridge Introduction
Qiqi Highland is a scenic spot that offers a 360-degree panoramic view. This area is known as Qiqi Highland due to its elevation of 77 meters. Previously, it was a controlled military zone, with access limited to a narrow military road, flanked by dense weeds, making it inconvenient for vehicles; parking is available near the entrance. After walking along the road for several hundred meters, you will reach an abandoned artillery position. Continue for several dozen meters to arrive at the highest point to the north, where there is an abandoned barrack. The platform on the second floor of this barrack is the best spot to enjoy the surrounding scenery, overlooking the mouth of Hualien River, which is also the northernmost point of the Central Mountain Range. In the summer, it's essential to be cautious of insects, mosquitoes, snakes, ants, and the risk of heat exhaustion. Moreover, whether you are into photography or simply appreciate nature, Qiqi Highland certainly deserves a spot on your travel list.
