Chikaxuan Forest Park Introduction
Chihkawan Forest Park is located in Ji'an Township, Hualien County. Originally named Nanpu Green Forest Park, it spans approximately 11 hectares and was once an air force base during the Japanese colonial period. In recent years, the government has redesigned and renovated the area, planting a variety of saplings and plants, transforming it into a multifunctional recreational park for leisure and ecological education. Chihkawan Park mainly features a fairy tale design style, divided into eight key areas: a central plaza upon entrance, a windsock plaza, and various zones including a native plant garden, an aquatic plant garden, and a dragon bone greenhouse. Additionally, there are fun dragonfly sculptures perfect for children, a children's play area, and a garden maze. The expansive forest area is an ideal retreat for families on weekends. For cycling enthusiasts, visitors can also bring their bicycles to ride freely and enjoy the gentle breeze, experiencing various scenery reminiscent of fairy tales.
