Chikaxuan Forest Park Introduction
Chihkaksyuan Forest Park is located in Ji'an Township, Hualien County. Originally named Nanpu Green Forest Park, it covers an area of approximately 11 hectares. During the Japanese colonial period, it was an air force base. In recent years, the government has re-planned and renovated the area, planting a variety of trees and plants, transforming it into a multifunctional recreational park for leisure and ecological education. The park primarily features a fairy-tale design style and is divided into eight key areas, including the central square at the entrance, the wind direction square, and the native plant area, aquatic plant area, and dragon spine greenhouse in the green zone. Additionally, there is a fun dragonfly sculpture area for children, a children’s playground, and a garden maze. The vast forest park is the perfect place for families to relax on weekends. For cycling enthusiasts, you can bring your own bike and ride freely, enjoying the gentle breeze and experiencing various scenes that seem straight out of a fairy tale.
