Harbor Dining Hall Introduction
A classic, affordable Hong Kong-style eatery hidden in the alleys near the seaside, every dish evokes the background music of Hong Kong in your mind. The owner and his wife are authentic Hong Kong locals who, motivated by their daughter's acceptance into National Tsing Hua University, packed their bags and traveled to Taiwan as a family. After decades working in the restaurant industry in Hong Kong, the owner came to Taiwan with the intention of sharing his culinary skills with Taiwanese friends. Each dish brings back memories of the bustling sounds of Hong Kong streets. The "Pork Chop Rice" (黯然銷魂飯) is actually a type of "Char Siu and Fried Egg Rice," where char siu rice is topped with a fried egg, a popular Hong Kong comfort food. Although it doesn't include Chinese broccoli, the taste is truly authentic Hong Kong and delicious. The "Three Treasures" (三寶) includes fish balls, pork skin, and radish, a Hong Kong street snack. The sweet white radish, the springy texture of the fish balls, and the pork skin soaked in delicious sauce make for a refreshing dish. The "French Toast" (西多士) is a must-try at Hong Kong tea restaurants, embodying the Hong Kong style with a soft, sweet, and rich texture filled with egg flavor.
