Living Spring Cultural Teahouse Introduction
With the rise of "Cypress Forest Living Village" in Chiayi City, which pairs cypress wood and poetry with tea, more tourists are drawn to experience the slow and leisurely pace of life in this small city. The Huquan Cultural Tea House, located at the entrance of Cypress Forest Living Village, boasts a serene lotus pond view. Established by Professor Fang from the Tea Culture and Business Management program at Datong University of Technology, Huquan Cultural Tea House has been part of Cypress Forest Living Village for over three years, aiming to provide a space for both domestic and international travelers to savor the sweetness of Taiwan's high mountain tea, experience the beauty of Eastern tea culture, and promote tea culture. Between 2014 and 2016, Huquan Cultural Tea House hosted numerous foreign dignitaries, brewing centuries of tea history into warm cups of tea, allowing guests to feel the warmth infused in the tea experience. Upon entering the Huquan Cultural Tea House, various exquisite tea utensils and ceramic artworks sit gently yet firmly in their places, as if untouched by the mundane world. As one's gaze crosses the cypress wood window bars, the elegant scenery of the lotus pond dissolves the impatient pace of time, leading guests to naturally settle at the wooden table by the window, enjoying the moments spent alongside high mountain tea and leisure. The "Love Tea Style" series offers handmade rose tart, lucky rainbow pastry, and romantic butterfly pea tea. The tea-pounding experience in the shop allows guests to choose their preferred tea type and, using a method similar to Hakka Lei Tea, pound the tea leaves into fine powder with a wooden stick in a ceramic bowl. The aroma of the tea wafts as the prepared tea powder is added to a brewing pot, resulting in a homemade cold brew tea, complemented by the lucky rainbow pastry, crafting a delightful chapter for an afternoon tea experience. In this age dominated by cheap and easily accessible bubble tea, many have gradually forgotten the beauty of Taiwan's tea; however, there are still many tea lovers who continue to gently and resolutely guard Taiwan's tea culture in their own ways. Huquan Cultural Tea House collaborates with Datong University of Technology's Tea Culture and Business Management program to further promote the value of Taiwanese tea.
