Tea Workshop Introduction
The making of a good local tea in your cup and the heartfelt intention behind it stem from the persistence of the tea farmers in Alishan. Yi Cha Workshop adopts natural farming methods, presenting the tea leaves in their pure form without extravagance or exaggeration. Upholding the local spirit of respecting nature, loving the land, and producing quality tea, the goal is to convey the happiness found in every cup of tea. Director Lin Ying-jiao inherited the family business but started from scratch in understanding the journey to truly appreciate Taiwan's good tea. Every step was tough but fulfilling. Starting from her own tea garden, she learned about planting, harvesting, processing, roasting tea, marketing it, and opening a brand tea shop, taking on the strictest quality control of the tea leaves herself, determined to let guests taste genuine and authentic Taiwanese tea! There are no secrets to her journey, just persistence, and more persistence. When talking about her entrepreneurial journey, Lin Ying-jiao shared that the most challenging aspect was understanding the deep knowledge of "managing a tea garden." Especially in the early days of entrepreneurship, during tea harvesting seasons, the frequent labor shortages often caused her great anxiety. Looking back on those difficult times, she can now smile and say: it was worth it! This also allows her to boldly tell consumers, "The tea you drink, we grow ourselves." It demonstrates her commitment to consumers and authentic local tea, allowing the Yi Cha brand to emerge. The simple and unadorned packaging focuses on the essence of the tea itself, returning to the initial intention of healthy and burden-free tea drinking. The star of the shop is named "Peach Joy Black Tea," a play on the sound of "lovable," redesigned from the packaging of early tea merchants. It features a design linking to ancient maps of "Peach City." Made from the Oolong tea variety grown at 23.5 degrees north latitude in Alishan, this black tea is gentle and unpretentious, yet its rhythmic variations are rich, resembling the genuine nature of Chiayi people. With a fresh approach to tea beverages, the mission is to invite young people into the world of Taiwanese tea, through a cup of truly good Taiwanese tea, savoring its unique flavors.
