Guo's Signature Dishes Introduction
Awarded as one of the Top Ten Souvenirs in Taoyuan City, this establishment is renowned for its forty years of expertise. The owner, Guo Xianjin, along with his son Guo Yuhan, who studied in Japan, combines professional management with superb baking skills to elevate the quality of their signature products, namely nougat, flaky pastries, and dorayaki, enhancing the aesthetic taste of these confections. Not only are the flaky pastries and nougat highly praised, but the newly flavored dorayaki also sells exceptionally well. It has secured a place within the county and has gained favor with foreign customers from Europe, America, and Japan, starting from the gateway of the nation, Taoyuan, earning numerous awards as a top-quality product representing local spirit. The first edition of the Top Ten Souvenirs in Taoyuan features the Taoyuan Pineapple Cake Gift Box, showcasing Taiwan's most representative pineapple cake, complemented by internationally renowned French pastry baking techniques, creating a top-tier blend of Taiwanese and French confections. Its flaky exterior and soft interior provide a layered texture that melts in your mouth, bursting with rich and exquisite flavors, making it a premier treat. The second edition of the Top Ten Souvenirs in Taoyuan, in 2009, includes the fresh dorayaki made with a filling based on the recent Japanese trend, and great care has also been taken with the outer skin. It adopts the soft outer skin method of Usagiya, a famous shop located near Ueno Park, which is recognized as the origin of modern dorayaki, matching well with Western-style pastries.
