Guoge Douhua Introduction

Guogo Douhua is a popular douhua (tofu pudding) shop that attracts customers from all over Taiwan, yet it is located in a remote residence far from Guogo's city center. However, those living in the alley (the insiders) know and can easily find this shop that specializes in traditional handmade douhua with an authentic old-fashioned taste. This is a reputable “store in the alley.” The owner, Chen Tianjin (born in 1943), was originally a farmer who cultivated a small plot of land, and he once ran a laundry shop, but due to the low demand for laundry services in the rural area, he switched to selling douhua for the sake of his family's finances after marriage. From grinding the beans to producing the soft and fragrant douhua, everything is done using traditional handmade methods, with self-produced ingredients ensuring quality and authentic flavors that earned a great reputation. Guogo Douhua originally only offered traditional and peanut flavors. It was not until the second generation under Chen Kunming (born in 1975) that mung bean and red bean flavors were added, each with its unique charm.
