Wu Lao Keng Scenic Area Introduction
Wulaokeng Stream belongs to the Xincheng River system, where the river enters the plains, showcasing a beautiful blend of mountains and water. Formerly known as "Wulao Forest Spring," it is one of the scenic spots in the "New Lanyang Eight Views." The hillside climate on both sides of Wulaokeng is suitable for tea cultivation, and Wulao tea is known for its clear fragrance and sweetness, gaining fame far and wide. The area is lush with forests, and one can see wildflowers, stream fish, and hairy crabs happily swimming in the babbling stream. "Wulaokeng's Big Stone Drum, Akiancheng's Clear Water" describes the melodious sounds made by the water hitting the rocks, while the clear waters of the downstream Akiancheng and fresh air nurture many pure and beautiful girls. The scenic area spans 400 hectares, with 70 hectares designated for camping, divided into two major camping zones capable of accommodating 1,000 campers. The facilities are quite comprehensive, including cooking pavilions, campfire sites, rainy day assembly areas, and separate male and female bathing facilities. Coupled with unique natural landscapes, the park serves as a diverse recreational area for camping, cooking, water play, mountain climbing, outdoor education, and tea tasting. Since 2001, from March to May each year, a Green Expo is held to convey green concepts, natural ecology, energy, biotechnology, and environmental protection in an enjoyable and educational way.
