Wulaokeng Scenic Area Introduction
Wulaokeng Stream belongs to the Xinchen Stream watershed, where the river enters the plains, showcasing the beautiful scenery of mountains and waters. Formerly known as "Wulaolin Spring," it is one of the famous spots in the "Eight Views of New Lanyang." The slopes on both sides of Wulaokeng are suitable for tea cultivation, and Wulao tea is known for its fragrant sweetness, gaining widespread fame. The area is lush with trees, and one can see bitter flowers, stream crabs, and other creatures leisurely in the babbling brook. The saying "Wulaokeng Stone Drum, Ajiancai Water Chama" describes the melodic sounds produced when the water of Wulaokeng Stream strikes the rocks, while the clear waters of Ajiancai downstream and the fresh air nurture many pure and beautiful girls. The scenic area covers 400 hectares, with 70 hectares planned for camping sites, divided into two major camping zones, accommodating 1,000 campers. The facilities are well-equipped, including cooking pavilions, campfire areas, rain shelters, and male and female bathing facilities, all complemented by unique natural landscapes, making the park an excellent recreational spot for camping, cooking, water play, mountain climbing, outdoor education, and tea tasting. Since 2001, a Green Expo has been held annually from March to May, conveying the concepts of green living, natural ecology, energy, biotechnology, and environmental protection in an entertaining and educational way.
