Wulaokeng Scenic Area Introduction
Wulaokeng River belongs to the Hsincheng River basin, where the river enters the plains, showcasing a splendid landscape of mountains and waters. Formerly known as "Wulaolin Spring," it is one of the scenic spots of the "Eight Views of Xilan". The climate on both banks of Wulaokeng is suitable for tea cultivation, and Wulao tea is renowned for its fragrant and sweet flavor, gaining fame far and wide. The area is rich in lush vegetation, and one can see苦花 (bitter flower), creek fish, and hairy crabs leisurely enjoying the gentle stream. The phrase "Wulaokeng Large Stone Drum, Akiancity's Water Scorpion" describes the musical sounds produced by water striking the stones of Wulaokeng, while the clear waters and fresh air of downstream Akiancity nurture many pure and beautiful girls. The scenic area covers 400 hectares, with 70 hectares designated for camping, divided into two main camping areas that can accommodate up to 1,000 campers. The facilities are very complete, including cooking pavilions, campfire areas, rainout assembly areas, and male and female bathing facilities. Coupled with unique natural landscapes, the park serves as a diverse recreational area for camping, cooking, playing in the water, stream tracing, hiking, outdoor education, and tea tasting. Since 2001, a Green Expo has been held every year from March to May, conveying concepts of green living, natural ecology, energy, biotechnology, and environmental protection in a fun and educational manner.
