Yilan Literary Museum Introduction
Yilan Literary Museum is located in the city of Yilan, adjacent to the Yilan Government Memorial Hall. The museum, featuring a strong Japanese architectural style, was originally the principal’s residence of a former agricultural school. After renovations to restore its original appearance, it became the Yilan Music Hall. In order to help more people understand the literary works of Lanyang, it has now been transformed into the Yilan Literary Museum. The Yilan Literary Museum still retains its original Japanese-style halls, but due to the smaller space, partitions with sliding doors have been utilized to create small private areas for visitors to choose from. Additionally, there is a dining space within the grounds, housed in an old historical mansion that served as the former residence of the secretaries, managed by an external operator, allowing visitors to take a break, enjoy tea, and experience a serene and comfortable atmosphere. Thanks to its tranquil environment and peaceful ambiance, the museum has attracted renowned actors, such as Takeshi Kaneshiro, who filmed a television commercial here, drawing large crowds of tourists to visit, making Yilan Literary Museum a popular photo spot. Entering the museum encourages a sense of introspection, allowing one to feel the peace of the surroundings, slow down the hurried pace of life, carefully read the literary works of Lanyang writers, and immerse oneself in the world of books.
