Yilan Literary Museum Introduction
The Yilan Literature Museum is located in the city of Yilan, adjacent to the Yilan Memorial Hall. With a strong Japanese architectural style, the museum was originally the principal's residence of an old agricultural school. After renovations and restoration, it became the Yilan Music Hall. In order to promote an understanding of Lanyang literature, it was transformed into the Yilan Literature Museum. The museum retains its original Japanese-style hall, although due to the smaller space, the management has created small compartments with sliding doors, providing different options for visitors. Additionally, there is a dining area within the park, housed in an old historical mansion previously used for official government receptions, which is managed by an external operator. This allows visitors to take a break, quietly enjoy tea, and relish the tranquil and comfortable environment. The peaceful surroundings and harmonious atmosphere have attracted renowned film star Takeshi Kaneshiro, who shot a television commercial here, drawing large numbers of tourists and turning the Yilan Literature Museum into a popular photo spot. Entering the museum allows one to quiet the mind, feel the serenity the environment offers, slow down the hurried pace, and carefully read the literary works of Lanyang writers, immersing oneself in the world of books.
