Lanyang River Bicycle Path Introduction
The Lanyang River Cycling Path can be divided into two routes: the North Bank and the South Bank. The North Bank cycling route starts from the Lanyang Bridge and heads east towards the mouth of the Lanyang River, with a total length of approximately 6.5 kilometers. The South Bank route also starts at the Lanyang Bridge and extends east to the Qingshui Floodgate, covering about 8 kilometers. Cycling along the Lanyang River Cycling Path connects multiple cycling routes, allowing riders to appreciate the unique landscape of the Lanyang River or visit the Waterbird Protection Area at the river mouth for birdwatching. Along the way, you will pass by attractions such as the Erjie Wang Gong Temple, Lanyang Bridge, Qingshui Floodgate, leisure agriculture areas, and the mouth of the Lanyang River. Not only can you taste high-quality whiskey produced in Yilan, as well as fresh fruits like the famous Hami melon and golden tomatoes, but you can also experience Yilan's local culture and beautiful rural scenery. On clear days, you can even view the hazy Guishan Island from the river mouth. This is not just a cycling exercise; along the route, you can also participate in various rural experience activities, making for a fulfilling cycling trip.
