Donggang Banyan Tree Park Introduction
At the estuary of Donggang Village in Zhuangwei Township, there is a banyan tree park where you can relax and unwind. You can enjoy a peaceful rest in the hammocks hanging between the old trees, or leisurely stroll along the tree-lined avenue, enjoying the tranquility. Donggang Banyan Tree Park is located at the southern exit of the coastal bike path, making it one of the resting spots along the cycling route. It is named for the thick shade created by the intertwining branches, which has become a stop for cyclists and visitors to escape the summer heat while taking in the scenery. The most unique feature here is the "fishing net hammock," woven by local fishermen and community residents, and you must try relaxing in the hammock to fully appreciate your visit. The public deity temple under the trees is also a place for locals to rest and chat. Exiting the banyan tree park, you will see the old simple pier where fishing boats still dock. Although it lacks the fishing bustle of the past, it still retains a strong fishing village atmosphere and simple charm. The seaside recreation area, banyan tree park, and the nearby Lanyang River estuary bird-watching area are all recommended spots in Yongzhen. You can ride your bike along the coastal highway for a leisurely exploration and enjoy the traditional Huhou community where the park is located, which still retains the appearance of old rural houses from early Taiwan, full of nostalgic flavor.
