Donggang Banyan Tree Park Introduction
At the estuary of Donggang Village in Zhuangwei Township, there is a banyan tree park where you can relax and unwind. You can rest on hammocks suspended between old trees or stroll along the tree-lined avenues, enjoying the tranquil moments in the dappled sunlight. Donggang Banyan Tree Park is located at the southern exit of the coastal bicycle path, making it one of the resting spots along the bike route. Its name comes from the lush intertwining branches that create a natural spectacle of shade, making it a midway point for cyclists and tourists to seek respite and enjoy the scenery during the summer. The park's most unique feature is the "fishing net hammock," woven by local fishermen and community residents. You must try the joy of lounging on the hammock during your visit to the park—it is a must-do experience. The public temple under the trees is also a place for local residents to relax and chat. Exiting the banyan tree park, you can see the old simple pier, where fishing boats still dock today. Although the once vibrant fishing activities have diminished, the area retains its rich fishing village charm and simple aesthetics. The coastal recreation area, banyan tree park, and the nearby Lanyang River estuary bird watching area are all recommended spots to visit in Yongzheng.
