Donggang Banyan Tree Park Introduction
At the estuary of Donggang Village in Zhuangwei Township, there is a Banyan Tree Park where you can relax and unwind. You can rest on the hammocks suspended between the old trees, or take a leisurely stroll along the tree-lined avenue, enjoying the peaceful moments. Donggang Banyan Tree Park is located at the southern exit of the coastal bicycle path and is one of the rest areas along the bike route. Named for its lush branches that create a natural spectacle of shaded areas, it has become a stop for cyclists and tourists looking to escape the summer heat and enjoy the scenery. The park's most unique feature, the "fishing net hammock," is woven by local fishermen and community residents, and trying out the joy of relaxing in these hammocks is a must-do. The public temple under the trees is also a place for locals to rest and chat. Exiting the Banyan Tree Park, you can see the old simple dock where fishing boats still moor today. Although it no longer has the bustling fishing scene of the past, it still retains a strong fishing village vibe and rustic charm. The seaside recreational area, Banyan Tree Park, and the nearby Lanyang River Estuary birdwatching area are all recommended attractions in Yongzhen. You can cycle along the coastal highway to enjoy the leisurely exploration, and appreciate the traditional community of Luhou where the park is located, which still preserves the appearance of early rural Taiwanese homes, full of nostalgic flavor.
