Donggang Banyan Tree Park Introduction
At the estuary of Donggang Village in Zhuangwei Township, there is a Banyan Tree Park where you can relax and unwind. You can rest in the hammocks suspended between the ancient trees, or take a leisurely stroll along the shaded pathway lined with intertwining branches, enjoying the tranquil moments. Donggang Banyan Tree Park is located at the southern exit of the Coastal Bicycle Path, making it one of the rest stops along the bike route. Named for its lush intertwining branches creating a natural wonder of shade, it has become a waystation for cyclists and tourists seeking relief from the summer heat. The most special feature here is the "Fishing Net Hammocks" woven by local fishermen and community residents. A visit to the park wouldn't be complete without experiencing the joy of lounging in a hammock, making it a worthwhile trip. The popular public temple beneath the trees is also a gathering place for local residents to chat. Exiting the Banyan Tree Park, you will see the old simple dock, where fishing boats still moor today. Although the past fishing boom is no longer seen, the area still retains a strong fishing village atmosphere and its rustic charm. The seaside recreational area, Banyan Tree Park, and the nearby Lanyang River Estuary birdwatching area are all worthwhile attractions in Yongjun. You can ride along the coastal highway, enjoying a leisurely bike ride and also admire the traditional community of Luhou, which still retains the appearance of early rural Taiwan with its nostalgic charm.
