Plum Blossom Lake Introduction
Meihua Lake Scenic Area is located in the central part of Dongshan Township, about a 17-minute drive from Luodong Train Station. It is close to famous attractions such as Zhongshan Tea Garden, Zhongshan Waterfall, Ren Mountain Botanical Garden, and the Taiwan Taoist Temple, Sanqing Temple. Meihua Lake is a natural reservoir surrounded by mountains on three sides, also known as Dapi or Mirror Lake. The shape of the lake resembles a five-petal plum blossom, hence the name Meihua Lake. In addition to its rich lake ecology, Meihua Lake serves as an irrigation source and water resource conservation, making it a natural reservoir. The lake area is spacious, with a lakeside path approximately 2.2 kilometers long, suitable for visitors to cycle and enjoy the picturesque scenery. Due to the diverse natural ecological environment of Meihua Lake, many plants and animals thrive here, including Formosan macaques, night herons, and squirrels. The area is also lined with food stalls and bicycle rental shops, making Meihua Lake a popular destination for family outings.
