Plum Blossom Lake Introduction
Meihua Lake Scenic Area is located in the central part of Dongshan Township, approximately 17 minutes by car from Luodong Railway Station. Nearby famous attractions include Zhongshan Tea Plantation, Zhongshan Waterfall, Renshan Botanical Garden, and the Taiwan Daoist Temple Sanqing Temple. Meihua Lake is a natural reservoir surrounded by mountains on three sides, also known as Dapi or Mirror Lake. Its shape resembles a five-petaled plum blossom, hence the name Meihua Lake. Meihua Lake not only boasts rich lake ecology but also serves as an irrigation source and water resource conservation, making it a natural reservoir. The extensive area of Meihua Lake features a lakeside road approximately 2.2 kilometers long, ideal for visitors to cycle and enjoy the scenic views. With its diverse natural ecological environment, many plants and animals thrive here, including Formosan macaques, black-crowned night herons, and squirrels. The surrounding area is filled with food stalls and bicycle rental shops, making Meihua Lake a popular destination for family outings.
