Meihua Lake Introduction
Meihua Lake Scenic Area is located in the central part of Dongshan Township. It is about a 17-minute drive from Luodong Railway Station and is close to several famous attractions, including Zhongshan Tea Garden, Zhongshan Waterfall, Renshan Botanical Garden, and the Taiwan Daoist Temple, Sanqing Temple. Meihua Lake is a natural reservoir, surrounded by mountains on three sides, and is also known as Dapi or Mirror Lake. The shape of the lake resembles a five-petal plum blossom, which is how it got its name, Meihua Lake. Not only does Meihua Lake boast a rich aquatic ecosystem, but it also serves to irrigate farmland and conserve water resources, making it a natural reservoir. The area of Meihua Lake is vast, and there is a lakeside road approximately 2.2 kilometers long, ideal for visitors to bike and enjoy the scenic lake views. Due to the diverse natural ecological environment of Meihua Lake, many animals and plants thrive here, including Formosan macaques, herons, and squirrels. Additionally, the area is filled with food stalls and bicycle rental shops, making Meihua Lake a popular destination for family outings.
