Plum Blossom Lake Introduction
Meihua Lake Scenic Area is located in the central part of Dongshan Township, approximately a 17-minute drive from Luodong Train Station. Nearby famous attractions include Zhongshan Tea Garden, Zhongshan Waterfall, Ren Shan Botanical Garden, and the Taiwan Daoist Temple, Sanqing Temple. Meihua Lake is a natural reservoir surrounded by mountains on three sides, also known as Dapi or Mirror Lake. The shape of the lake resembles a five-petal plum blossom, hence the name Meihua Lake. Not only does Meihua Lake possess rich lake ecology, but it also serves the purpose of irrigating farmland and conserving water resources, acting as a natural reservoir. The lake area is expansive, featuring a circular path around the lake that is approximately 2.2 kilometers long, making it suitable for visitors to ride bicycles and enjoy the scenic views. Due to the diverse natural ecological environment of Meihua Lake, many animals and plants thrive and linger here, such as Formosan macaques, night herons, and squirrels. The surrounding area is lined with food stalls and bicycle rental shops, making Meihua Lake a popular destination for family outings.
