Meihua Lake Introduction
Meihua Lake Scenic Area is located in the central part of Dongshan Township, approximately a 17-minute drive from Luodong Railway Station. It is close to several famous attractions, including Zhongshan Tea Garden, Zhongshan Waterfall, Ren Shan Botanical Garden, and the Grand Master of Taiwan Taoism Temple (Sanqing Temple). Meihua Lake is a natural reservoir surrounded by mountains on three sides, also known as Dapi or Mirror Lake. The shape of the lake resembles a five-petaled plum blossom, hence the name Meihua Lake. Meihua Lake boasts a rich aquatic ecosystem and serves as a natural reservoir, nurturing agricultural land and conserving water resources. The area spans a wide expanse, with a lakeside road approximately 2.2 kilometers long, suitable for visitors to cycle and enjoy the scenic views. Due to its diverse natural ecological environment, various flora and fauna thrive and linger here, including Formosan macaques, black-crowned night herons, and squirrels. The nearby abundance of food stalls and bicycle rental shops makes Meihua Lake a popular destination for family outings.
