Sanqing Temple Introduction
Sanqing Temple is located on the hillside of Meihua Lake Scenic Area, 7 kilometers away from Luodong City, and is the main temple of Taoism in Taiwan. The temple is magnificent and solemn, showcasing a structure that combines elements of classical Chinese palaces. With its flourishing incense offerings and the serene beauty of Meihua Lake, it attracts many tourists and devotees, accessible by a 15-minute walk along the lakeside road from Meihua Lake. The overall architectural design of Sanqing Temple is characterized by the colorful style typical of northern Chinese palaces, mainly dedicated to the Three Pure Ones, and, in accordance with the deity's instructions to the devotees, does not incorporate the burning of joss paper, focusing instead on incense offerings, fresh flowers, and fruits, making it very environmentally friendly. During the Lunar New Year, Sanqing Temple holds blessing ceremonies, offering porridge to visitors and devotees from the first to the ninth day of the lunar month, symbolizing wishes for safety. In addition to holding religious celebrations on the birthdays of deities, Sanqing Temple is surrounded by mountains, and its spacious plaza offers a panoramic view of the entire Lanyang Plain and Meihua Lake, making it a popular spot for local residents to go for morning runs. At night, it becomes an excellent location for enjoying the night scenery of Yilan.
