Shin Liao Waterfall Introduction
Xingliao Waterfall is located in Zhongshan Village, Dongshan Township, and is the source of the Dongshan River. The Xingliao Waterfall Trail is approximately 900 meters long, ascending along the Xingliao Creek Valley. However, in order to protect the ecological environment, there is a control station at the entrance of the Xingliao Waterfall, limiting the number of visitors to 350. The source of the Xingliao Creek is the 980-meter-high Xingliao Mountain, where developed fault topography has formed ten waterfalls along the way, with the Xingliao Waterfall being the lowest one. It merges with the Jiuliao Creek to form the Dongshan River. Along the trail, there is a rich and diverse forest ecosystem, where the sounds of insects and birds can be heard, and butterflies and dragonflies can be seen flying. The trail is paved with wood chips and gravel, and walking along it, one can smell the faint scent of wood. Due to its short distance and ease of hiking, it is a popular public trail. When reaching the end of the trail, one can hear the sound of flowing water and see the 30-meter-high Xingliao Waterfall cascading down. The pool below is a deep emerald green, and the scene is quite magnificent. The forest near the waterfall feels cool, and taking a deep breath filled with negative ions sweeps away the fatigue and worries from hiking.
