Hanxi Suspension Bridge Introduction
Hanxi Suspension Bridge is located in Hanjing Village, Datong Township, spanning the upper reaches of Fanshe Stream. It is 324 meters long and features colorful paintings of diamond-shaped totems representing the ancestral spirits' eyes of the Atayal tribe, with vibrant and beautiful colors. It is the longest and most beautiful suspension bridge in Yilan County. Hanxi is also the name of a stream and a place, originally called "Hansiren Stream" due to the deep gorges of Fanshe Stream's upper reaches, where the water flows rapidly and is icy cold, hence the name Hanxi. The Hanxi Suspension Bridge serves as a vital link between Hanxi Village and Huashing Community. Standing on the bridge, one can see the stunning beauty of the entire valley and gaze at the continuous verdant mountains. This suspension bridge, rich in indigenous Taiwanese characteristics, has become an important landmark of Hanxi Village. Walking on the Hanxi Suspension Bridge offers breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys, allowing one to experience the unadulterated beauty, free from urban disturbances. After crossing the bridge, visitors can also explore the nearby Hanxi Village and ancient paths, as well as visit the mysterious ruins of the Hanxi Shrine for a delightful small trip filled with mountain tribal style.
