Hanxi Suspension Bridge Introduction
Hanxi Suspension Bridge is located in Hanxi Village, Datong Township, and spans the upper reaches of Fanshe Stream, with a total length of 324 meters. The bridge is adorned with colorful diamond totems representing the ancestral spirits' eyes of the Atayal tribe, making it one of the longest and most beautiful suspension bridges in Yilan County. Hanxi is a river name as well as a place name, originally called "Han Dead River," due to the deep valley of the upper Fanshe Stream where the water is swift and cold, hence the name Hanxi. The Hanxi Suspension Bridge is a crucial link connecting Hanxi Village with Huaxing Community. Standing on the bridge, visitors can enjoy the breathtaking views of the entire valley and the endless lush mountains. This suspension bridge, rich in indigenous Taiwanese characteristics, has become an important landmark of Hanxi Village.
