Hanxi Suspension Bridge Introduction
The Hanxi Suspension Bridge is located in Hanxi Village, Datong Township, spanning the upstream of Fanshekeng Creek with a total length of 324 meters. The bridge is adorned with colorful diamond totems representing the ancestral spirits' eyes of the Atayal tribe, featuring vibrant and beautiful colors. It is the longest and most beautiful suspension bridge in Yilan County. Hanxi is the name of a creek, as well as the name of the area, originally named "Han Death Creek," due to the deep canyon of the upstream Fanshekeng Creek, where the water flow is quite rapid, and the creek is cold enough to chill the bones. The Hanxi Suspension Bridge serves as a vital link between Hanxi Village and Huaxing Community. Standing on the bridge offers a stunning view of the entire valley and the continuous green mountains. This suspension bridge, rich in indigenous Taiwanese characteristics, has become an important landmark of Hanxi Village. Walking on the Hanxi Suspension Bridge provides a panoramic view of the green mountains and valleys, allowing visitors to experience the beauty of this unspoiled landscape, free from urban disturbances. After crossing the bridge, visitors can explore the nearby Hanxi Village, ancient paths, and the mysterious ruins of the Hanxi Shrine, making it a delightful small trip filled with the charm of the mountain community.
