National Central University Introduction
National Central University is located in the Shuanglianpo area of Zhongli and covers an area of about 62 hectares. With its beautiful campus landscape and convenient location, it has become a popular filming site for many television idol dramas. The university is not only a place of learning but also a favored dating spot for young people. Here, you can stroll along the Baihuachuan Pine Forest Trail lined with tall pine trees, breathe in the fragrant osmanthus wafting through the air, and easily take in the expansive green lawns, the picturesque Zhongda Lake with willow trees casting reflections, and the artworks of renowned sculptor Ju Ming. Entering the campus through the main gate along Zhongda Road, the first sight to greet you is the oval-shaped garden designed along the sloping terrain, with the words "National Central University" elegantly woven from banyan trees, capturing attention with its grandeur. Continuing past the roundabout, you can wander down the stone-paved "Baihuachuan Pine Forest Trail," which features scenic viewpoints, recreational seating, and illumination. Along the trail, you can enjoy Ju Ming's famous bronze sculpture "Tai Chi Arches" on the expansive lawn, and at the green space known as "Central Park," you'll find a large banyan tree resembling the Cathay Life logo, fondly nicknamed the "Cathay Tree," both of which are excellent spots for photos. At the end of the trail is an outdoor cafe, where visitors can often be seen leisurely sipping coffee and enjoying the sunshine on weekends, while the joyous sounds of kites and frisbees fill the air, creating a carefree atmosphere. The university’s stunning campus landscape has attracted numerous idol dramas, such as the Zhongda Lake where the protagonists fall into the water in "The Promise of Eighteen," Wu Chenjun's wishing at the Cathay Tree in "Peach Girl," the chair beside the Tai Chi lawn where Angela Zhang sits in "Love Kills 17," and the Pine Forest Avenue where Zai Zai rides his bike in "The Poor Young Master." Most recently, "Cheng Dong University" in the story of "My Freedom Days" is actually National Central University, and the romantic Baihuachuan serves as the setting for the university's Christmas dance. During Christmas, the university decorates the area with colorful lights to enhance the festive atmosphere. In addition to its cultural and artistic ambiance, the campus features two elegant fountain ponds, with shady banks swaying gently in the breeze, adding to the poetic scenery. Groups of students and couples stroll through the campus, contributing to the romantic vibe. If you’re not in a rush, you can walk hand in hand with your partner across the expansive lawn at the entrance, spend a leisurely afternoon together, or lie back and let the warm sun kiss your skin, writing chapters of your love story.
