Guanyin Bicycle Trail Introduction
Taoyuan's unique landscapes include "Pond" and "Lotus"! The Guanyin Bicycle Path is divided into northern and southern circular routes along County Road 112. The northern route, "Pond Tour," is a 6-kilometer journey where beautiful ponds sparkle like crystals along the way, astonishing visitors. The southern route, "Lotus Garden Tour," connects several leisure farms, covering a distance of 7.5 kilometers, where you can enjoy the swaying lotus flowers and taste the lotus seed dishes. The northern Pond Tour begins at Fuxin Road next to the school pond, where a gentle breeze encourages visitors to slow down and savor the serene scene of the sunset reflecting on the lake. Along Section 2 of Fushan Road, 700 white paperbark trees provide shade for nearly 3 kilometers, as sunlight filters through the tree gaps, time flows slowly, and both body and mind feel refreshed. From late summer to early winter, clusters of white paperbark flowers adorn the green forest, adding a surprise of white to the journey. The 2017 Landscape Art Festival designated the Guanyin Guangfu community as one of its exhibition areas, installing art along the northern route, guiding travelers to appreciate the rich natural ecology while enjoying artistic fun. The southern "Lotus Garden Tour" can be accessed by turning onto Taoyuan 84 Xinhua Road or Taoyuan 99 Jinhua Road from Highway 11, following the signs. Additionally, riding south allows visitors to cross the east-west route of Highway 66, connecting to the lotus garden in Xinwu, where each season presents different themed flower fields, with sunflowers, lavender, and cosmos flowers greeting visitors in a splendid display. Traveling through this area is very pleasant and a great spot for couples and families to capture photos. Visitors to the Guanyin Bicycle Path do not need to bring their bicycles, as nearby lotus gardens offer rental services. After a tiring ride, many farms also provide dining options, making it a perfect time for afternoon tea.
