Shidianzi 69 Organic Bookstore Introduction
Lu Wen-chun has leased a century-old store, making efforts to preserve the original appearance of the old house. Part of the small building is used as a bookstore, with shelves on both sides filled with books. It serves as a place for travelers to exchange books and provides a stress-free environment for rest and reading. The small loft of the Organic Bookstore, located at No. 69 Shidianzi, has been transformed into a backpacker’s hostel. In earlier times, due to larger families, a single house would often accommodate over a dozen people. The small loft is a prime example of how early Hakka people effectively utilized space. The function of this small loft remains unchanged, now serving as an inn for travelers, and the charming Hakka old house has become a hidden gem for foreign backpackers seeking peace and exploration. The small bookstore is not only a place for books; old walls adorned with artists’ paintings are complemented by various activities such as storytelling sessions and local light travel tours.
