Stone Shop 69 Organic Bookstore Introduction

Lu Wen-Chun rents an old shop that has been around for a century, making efforts to preserve its original appearance. A part of the small house serves as a bookstore, filled with books on both sides of the shelves, facilitating a book exchange among travelers. It offers a pressure-free space for rest and peaceful reading. The small attic of the organic bookstore at Shizhuzi 69 has transformed into a backpacker hostel. In the past, due to high birth rates, a single house would typically accommodate a dozen people. The attic represents an ideal example of how early Hakka people effectively utilized space. Today, this small attic retains its function, serving as an inn for travelers. The charming Hakka houses have become private spots for foreign backpackers seeking unique experiences. The small bookstore is not just a bookstore; the weathered walls display artworks by artists. Besides holding irregular exhibitions, various activities such as story-telling by mothers and local light travel tours are vibrant here, hoping to change behaviors and thoughts through art. Info.
