In the past, due to high birth rates, a single house would typically accommodate a dozen people. The attic represents an ideal example of how early Hakka people effectively utilized space. Today, this small attic retains its function, serving as an inn for travelers. The charming Hakka houses have become private spots for foreign backpackers seeking unique experiences. The small bookstore is not just a bookstore; the weathered walls display artworks by artists.
