HeMei Mountain Hiking Trail Introduction
HeMei Mountain on the west bank of Bitan offers a close view of the east bank of Bitan and the Bitan Suspension Bridge, while providing a distant view of Nangang Mountain and Taipei 101. Turning back, one can see the Qintan area on Beiyi Road and the Xindian Wulu area along with the Wantan area. The complete forest and rich ecology attract various insects, animals, and birds, creating a natural ecological paradise for visitors to explore and observe nature. The HeMei Mountain Nature Trail is a hiking trail suitable for all ages, featuring a short and gentle path divided into the blue water-friendly trail and the green mountain-friendly trail. The trail is rich in ecology, boasting nearly 200 native butterfly host plants. The initial section consists of a flat slope, after which visitors can choose to continue straight or climb stairs to reach the top of HeMei Mountain. The view from the summit is excellent, offering a panoramic view of the entire Taipei basin, including a clear sight of Taipei 101. There are benches along the trail for resting, and designated spots also have portable toilets, making it a family-friendly and wheelchair-accessible simple hiking trail.
