Hemei Mountain Hiking Trail Introduction
Hemei Mountain on the west bank of Bitan offers close views of the east bank of Bitan and the Bitan Suspension Bridge, while the distant views include Nangang Mountain and Taipei 101. Looking back, one can see the Qingtan area on North-Yi Road and the Xin-Wu Road in the Bantian area. The complete forest and rich ecology attract various insects, animals, and birds, creating a natural ecological paradise for visitors to hike and observe nature. The Hemei Mountain Nature Trail is a hiking trail suitable for all ages, with a short distance and a gentle path. It is divided into the blue water-friendly trail and the green mountain-friendly trail. The diverse ecology along the trail includes nearly 200 species of native butterfly plants. The initial segment is a flat slope, after which visitors can choose to continue straight or climb the stairs to reach the top of Hemei Mountain. The view from the summit is exceptional, providing a panoramic view of the entire Taipei Basin, where Taipei 101 is also clearly visible. There are benches along the trail for resting, and mobile toilets are available at specific points, making it an easy hiking trail suitable for families and wheelchair users.
