Hemei Mountain Trail Introduction
He Mei Mountain on the west bank of Bitan offers a close view of the east bank of Bitan and the Bitan Suspension Bridge, while providing a distant view of Nangang Mountain and Taipei 101. Looking back, one can see the Qingtan area along the North Yi Road and the Xinwu Road in the Wan Tan region. The complete forest and rich ecology attract various insects, animals, and birds, forming a natural ecological paradise for visitors to hike and observe nature. The He Mei Mountain Nature Trail is an easy hiking trail suitable for all ages, not only due to its short distance but also its gentle slope, which is divided into a blue trail near the water and a green trail near the mountain. The trail is rich in ecology, featuring nearly 200 species of native butterfly-rearing plants. The first part is a flat slope, and later hikers can choose to continue straight or climb stairs to the peak of He Mei Mountain. The view from the top is excellent, providing a panoramic view of the Taipei basin, including a clear sight of Taipei 101. Benches are available along the trail for resting, and portable toilets are located at designated spots, making it an easy hiking trail suitable for families with children and wheelchair users.
