Little Chihbi Introduction
The west bank of the Xindian River features towering rock formations that emerge steeply following years of erosion by the river. Their resemblance to the cliffs of the Yangtze River in mainland China has led local scholars to compare this area to the "Chibi" described in Su Shi's "Chibi Fu," hence the local nickname "Little Chibi." Xindian, blessed with beautiful mountains and waters, offers a network of accessible trails for outdoor enjoyment. Both the Hemei Mountain Trail near the suspension bridge and the Shitou Mountain Trail close to the MRT station are suitable for family outings. For those wishing to explore further, renting a bicycle allows for a scenic ride along well-planned riverside bike paths, showcasing the beauty of the Xindian River. Hiking enthusiasts can take a bus or the free sightseeing shuttle to tackle several hiking trails in Xindian, including the Yinhe Cave Trail, the Shizaitou Mountain An Yong Line, the Erbazi Botanical Garden, the Shuangcheng Trail, and the Guangxing Wetland Ecological Trail, offering a rare chance to breathe in phytoncides amidst the urban environment.
