Little Chichibu Introduction
The west bank of the Xindian River features a valley with towering rock formations, exposed by the water's erosion into steep cliffs that stretch endlessly. Because of its resemblance to the Chi Bi (Red Cliffs) of the Yangtze River in mainland China, and the comparison made by literati to Su Shi's "Red Cliff Ode," locals refer to this area as the Little Chi Bi. In Xindian, known for its beautiful mountains and waters, there are well-connected trails for close encounters with nature. Whether it's the Hemei Mountain Trail by the suspension bridge or the Shitou Mountain Trail near the MRT station, these paths are perfect for family outings. For those wishing to venture further, bicycles can be rented to ride along the well-planned riverside bike paths, taking in the views of the Xindian River. Hiking enthusiasts can take a bus or free sightseeing bus to explore various mountain trails, including the Yinhe Cave Trail, Shizaitou Mountain Trail, Erbazi Botanical Garden, Shuangcheng Trail, and Guangxing Wetland Ecological Trail, and enjoy the rare phytoncide in the city, breathing in the forest's freshness.
