Little Chichibu Introduction
The western bank of the Xindian River features towering rock formations that have been carved by the flowing water, creating steep cliffs that stretch endlessly. Due to its resemblance to the Chi Bi (Red Cliffs) of the Yangtze River on the mainland, and with local scholars comparing it to Su Shi's "Chibi Fu," the area is colloquially known as "Little Chi Bi." With its beautiful mountains and clear waters, Xindian is well-connected by a network of trails that allow for interaction with both the water and the mountains. Whether it’s the Hemei Mountain Trail by the suspension bridge or the Shitoushan Trail near the MRT station, these trails are suitable for family outings. For those wanting to venture further, bicycles can be rented to ride along the well-planned waterfront bike paths, taking in the scenic views of the Xindian River. Hiking enthusiasts can take a bus or free sightseeing bus to tackle multiple hiking trails in Xindian, including the Yinhe Cave Trail, Shizaitou Mountain Trail, Erbazi Botanical Garden, Shuangcheng Trail, and Guangxing Wetland Ecological Trail, enjoying the rare phytoncide in the urban environment and breathing in the natural forest air.
