Little Chihbi Introduction
The west bank of the Xindian River features towering rock formations, shaped by the torrent of the river into steep, continuous cliffs. Due to its resemblance to the Chibi of the Yangtze River in mainland China, and the comparison made by literary figures to Su Shi's "Chibi Fu," local residents have named it "Little Chibi." Xindian, with its beautiful mountains and waters, offers extensive hiking trails that allow visitors to connect with nature. Whether it’s the Hemei Mountain Trail near the suspension bridge or the Shitoushan Trail close to the MRT station, both are suitable for family outings. For those looking to explore further, renting a bicycle and riding along the well-planned riverside bike path provides a fantastic view of the Xindian River. Hikers can take a bus or a free sightseeing shuttle to challenge themselves on several hiking trails in Xindian, including the Yinghe Cave Trail, Shizaitou Mountain Pass Trail, Erbazi Botanical Garden, Shuangcheng Trail, and Guangxing Wetland Ecological Trail, enjoying a rare infusion of phytoncides in the city and indulging in the fresh forest air.
