Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall & Zhongzheng Hall Introduction
Toufen City has a large population and has always been an industrial hub in Miaoli County. However, in the past, there were no suitable venues for cultural performances, and residents had to travel to Miaoli City or Hsinchu to enjoy cultural events. In response to this, the town hall applied for funding from the Ministry of Culture and selected the Zhongshan Hall and the Zhongzheng Building next to the Toufen City Hall for renovation, transforming them into well-equipped performance venues. The Zhongshan Hall is located in a densely populated area with convenient transportation. After renovations, its facilities have become quite advanced, with stage, sound, lighting, and air conditioning all meeting high standards. Notably, the stage was specially deepened and widened during the renovation to provide ample space for larger performance groups to deliver perfect shows. The Zhongzheng Building was converted from a library and currently features a multifunctional exhibition area of approximately 100 ping on the first floor, which can host exhibitions, meetings, and various community activities. On average, two to three exhibitions are arranged each month, making it an important cultural venue in Miaoli. After the renovations, the Zhongshan Hall and the Zhongzheng Building have become venues for various artistic and cultural performances, enriching the spirit of Miaoli County residents and successfully integrating culture into their daily lives.
