Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall & Zhongshan Hall Introduction
Toufen City has a large population and has long been a significant industrial and commercial hub in Miaoli County. However, in the past, there were no suitable venues for arts and cultural performances. If residents wanted to enjoy cultural events, they had to travel to Miaoli City or Hsinchu. In response, the town hall applied for funding from the National Cultural and Arts Foundation and decided to renovate the Zhongshan Hall and the Chiang Ching-Kuo Hall next to the Toufen City Town Hall to become well-equipped performance venues. The Zhongshan Hall is situated in a densely populated area with convenient transportation. After renovation, it boasts excellent facilities, with standards in stage, sound, lighting, and air conditioning that are quite high. Particularly, the stage was deepened and widened during the renovation to provide ample space for large performing groups to deliver perfect performances. Meanwhile, the Chiang Ching-Kuo Hall was transformed from a library. The first floor features a multifunctional exhibition area of approximately 100 pings that can host exhibitions, meetings, and community workshops. On average, two to three exhibitions are organized each month, making it an important cultural venue in Miaoli. After the renovations, both Zhongshan Hall and Chiang Ching-Kuo Hall have become platforms for various art and cultural performances, enriching the spirit of Miaoli residents and successfully integrating culture into people's daily lives.
