Chungshan Hall & Chungcheng Hall Introduction
Toufen City has a large population and has long been a commercial hub in Miaoli County. However, in the early days, there were no suitable cultural and performing arts venues. Residents who wished to enjoy cultural performances had to travel to Miaoli City or Hsinchu. In response, the town hall applied for funding from the Cultural Affairs Council and chose to renovate the Zhongshan Hall and the Chung Cheng Hall next to the Toufen City Hall to become comprehensive performance venues. Zhongshan Hall is located in a densely populated area with convenient transportation. After renovation, it is equipped with high-quality facilities, including stage, sound systems, lighting, and air conditioning. Notably, the stage has been specially deepened and widened during the reconstruction to provide ample space for large performing groups to deliver perfect presentations. Chung Cheng Hall, on the other hand, has been converted from a library. The first floor features a multifunctional exhibition area of approximately one hundred ping, which can host exhibitions, meetings, and community study activities. On average, two to three exhibitions are scheduled each month, making it an important cultural venue in Miaoli. After the renovation, Zhongshan Hall and Chung Cheng Hall have become venues for various cultural and artistic performances, enriching the spiritual life of Miaoli County residents and successfully integrating culture into people's lives.
