Chungshan Hall & Zhongzheng Hall Introduction
Toufen City has a large population and has always been a commercial hub in Miaoli County. However, in the past, there were no suitable venues for cultural and artistic performances, and residents who wanted to enjoy cultural events had to travel to Miaoli City or Hsinchu. In light of this, the town hall applied for funding from the Council for Cultural Affairs and selected the Zhongshan Hall and the Chengzheng Hall next to the Toufen City Town Hall for renovation, creating a well-equipped performance venue. The location of Zhongshan Hall is densely populated and easily accessible. After the renovation, the facilities are quite excellent, with a stage, sound system, lighting, and air conditioning all at a high standard. Notably, the stage was specially deepened and widened during reconstruction to provide ample space for large performing groups to deliver perfect performances. Chengzheng Hall, on the other hand, was converted from a library. The first floor features a multifunctional exhibition area of about 100 ping, which can host exhibitions, meetings, and workshops for community activities. On average, two to three exhibitions are scheduled each month, making it an important cultural venue in Miaoli. After the renovations, Zhongshan Hall and Chengzheng Hall have become venues for various artistic and cultural performances, enriching the spiritual life of Miaoli County residents and successfully integrating culture into people's everyday lives.
