Chungshan Hall & Chengzheng Building Introduction
Toufen City has a large population and has always been an important industrial and commercial hub in Miaoli County. However, in the past, there were no suitable venues for arts and cultural performances, and residents had to travel to Miaoli City or Hsinchu to enjoy cultural events. In light of this, the town hall applied for funding from the Ministry of Culture and decided to renovate the Zhongshan Hall and the Chung Cheng Hall next to the Toufen City Hall to create a well-equipped performance venue. Zhongshan Hall is located in a densely populated area with convenient transportation. After the renovation, it is well-equipped, featuring a stage, audio, lighting, and air conditioning that meet high standards. Especially notable is the stage, which was specifically deepened and widened during the renovation to provide ample space for large performing groups to deliver perfect performances. Chung Cheng Hall, on the other hand, was transformed from a library. The first floor consists of a multifunctional exhibition area covering approximately 100 ping, which can host exhibitions, meetings, and club activities. On average, two to three exhibitions are arranged each month, making it an important cultural venue in Miaoli. After the renovations, Zhongshan Hall and Chung Cheng Hall have become venues for various arts and cultural performances, enriching the spiritual life of Miaoli residents and successfully integrating culture into people's lives.
