Knock Knock Wood Workshop Introduction

"Knock Knock Wood Workshop" originated in 1969 during the prosperous logging period in Puli. It was founded by the three brothers of the Shih family as the "Haishan Handicraft Society," specializing in the production of nutcrackers and music boxes, making it one of the few manufacturers of such products in Taiwan at the time. With industrial changes, it was transformed in 2012 by the second generation, Shih Wen-jie, into an experiential woodshop, allowing visitors to DIY various wooden products and promoting Puli's woodworking culture and traditional craftsmanship. Knock Knock Wood Workshop is located in Puli Township, Nantou County. The exterior of the factory is simple, but the interior space is carefully planned with multiple display and DIY experience areas, suitable for family visits. The DIY projects are diverse, including music boxes, animal frames, carousels, and painted nutcrackers, with experience times ranging from 15 to 60 minutes. Online reservations are recommended on weekdays, while visitors can directly walk in on weekends. Knock Knock Wood Workshop not only preserves Puli's woodworking industry memory but also allows tourists to experience the warmth of wood and the charm of craftsmanship through hands-on creation, making it a must-visit attraction in Puli. Opening hours are Thursday to Monday from 09:30 to 16:30, with a break from 12:00 to 13:30 on weekdays. It is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (open as usual on Wednesdays during winter and summer vacations). Please check the on-site or official announcements for closure information.
