Handmade Kiln Introduction
Qin Shou Kiln is located on the right side of Provincial Highway 21, heading from Sun Moon Lake towards Puli. The exterior has a rich tropical flavor, and visitors can feel the creator's effortless style through the architectural elements and installations in the park. The rough wood carvings exude a primitive essence, and the design and construction of the exhibition area and restaurant seem like spontaneous creations of the owner, lending a sense of freedom to the stroll around the park. For just 150 NTD, visitors can roll up their sleeves and enjoy the pleasure of hand-pulled clay. It’s a delightful experience for families together. The charming name "Qin Shou Kiln" was conceived by the owner, Wu Chih-Pin, at four o'clock on the morning of its opening. He woke his wife to get her opinion, and thus Qin Shou Kiln in Zhongming Village was established. Wu Chih-Pin's home originally served as the tourist service center for the Zhongming community and is now the handcrafting kiln, with every brick and tile personally laid by Mr. Wu, including the pottery classroom, loft, guesthouse,吊橋 (suspension bridge), and gazebo. There is also a wooden sculpture on the main building that tells the story of Mr. Wu's journey from a fish seller's child to his current achievements.
