Handmade Kiln Introduction
Qinshou Kiln is located along the direction from Sun Moon Lake to Puli, on the right side of Provincial Highway 21. The building features a tropical design, and by exploring the area, visitors can appreciate the owner's spontaneous creativity. The rustic wooden sculptures exude a primitive charm, while the designs of the exhibition area and restaurant seem like effortless creations by the owner, offering a sense of freedom as one walks around the park. Visitors can pay 150 NTD to roll up their sleeves and enjoy the fun of making hand-pulled pottery; family visits are particularly delightful. The charming name "Qinshou Kiln" was conceived by the owner, Wu Cibin, at four o'clock in the morning on the day of the opening. He woke his wife to get her input, leading to the establishment of Qinshou Kiln in Zhongming Village. Mr. Wu's home originally served as the visitor service center for the Zhongming community and also functions as the pottery workshop. Every brick and tile has been personally assembled by Mr. Wu, including the pottery classroom, building, guesthouse, suspension bridge, and pavilion. A wooden sculpture on the main building tells the story of Mr. Wu's journey from being the child of a fish vendor to his current achievements.
