Handmade Kiln Introduction
Qinshou Kiln is located on the way from Sun Moon Lake to Puli, on the right side of Provincial Highway 21. The appearance is rich in tropical flavor, and by browsing the park's buildings and installations, one can feel the owner's creative spontaneity. The rough wooden sculptures are filled with primitive charm, and the design and construction of the exhibition area and restaurant seem to be casual creations by the owner, allowing for a relaxed and unrestricted experience while walking through the park. Visitors to this place can pay 150 NTD to roll up their sleeves and enjoy the pleasure of hand-pulling pottery, making it a delightful experience for families. The beautiful and friendly name "Qinshou Kiln" was conceived by the owner, Wu Cih-bin, at four o'clock in the morning on opening day. He woke his wife to get her opinion, and thus, Qinshou Kiln in Zhongming Village was established. Mr. Wu's home was originally the tourist service center of the Zhongming community and is now the Qinshou Kiln for pottery making. Every brick and tile has been hand-stacked by Mr. Wu, including the pottery classroom, the main building, guesthouse, suspension bridge, and pavilion. There is also a wooden sculpture on the main building that tells the story of Mr. Wu's journey from a child's life selling fish to where he is today.
