Taiwan Hakka Cultural Museum Introduction
The park is designed based on the undulating terrain of the hillside where it is located, featuring outdoor spaces, a main exhibition area, and supporting facilities. It connects the area with gentle paths surrounding the site, treating the buildings as part of the overall landscape. The park and its related facilities are enveloped by an artificial hill formed by patterns of water and greenery, creating the imagery of terraced landscapes. The main exhibition area serves as the core of the park, accessible via an entrance sky bridge to the 2nd floor permanent exhibition area, which tells the poignant stories of Hakka immigration in Taiwan through display techniques. The 1st floor houses a multimedia interactive exhibition area, while surrounding special exhibition areas are themed around different elements of Hakka charm, including spaces for the Taiwan Pavilion, Global Pavilion, Children's Pavilion, Cultural and Creative Industries Pavilion, and a special exhibition area for camphor industry, reflecting the profound significance of inheriting and innovating Hakka culture. The park's supporting facilities include a DIY experience area for family enjoyment and classroom spaces, with a multimedia theater next to the classroom showing captivating Hakka films. The main stage area of the stepped plaza is designed to host various artistic performances, such as Hakka music and club showcases, inviting the audience closer to Hakka culture. A walking path behind the main stage leads to a crescent-shaped pond infused with Hakka imagery, where visitors can view the scenery of Hakka settlements at the foot of the mountain. When you get tired, take a stroll through the Hakka characteristic industry products area to shop for Hakka souvenirs and delicacies, allowing visitors to experience the hospitality of the Hakka people before the end of the trip!
