Tongluo Tea Factory Introduction
The Dihua Tea Factory operated by Taiwan Agricultural and Forestry Company promotes ecological education through environmentally friendly and sustainable practices with natural farming and organic cultivation. The factory features a simple and stylish exterior with a bright and clean space design, injecting youthful energy into the century-old tea industry in the region. Inside the factory, to help the public better understand the characteristics of Miaoli tea culture, vintage tea production tools are displayed, adding a strong sense of nostalgia. A wall lined with about a hundred tea canisters turns Taiwan tea into fashionable boutique items. Visitors can sit down to enjoy local tea-picking meals and various refreshing cold brews. Stepping out of the factory, one can escape the hustle and bustle to the nearby tea gardens, where not only can they experience the fun of tea-picking and DIY tea processing, but they can also become a tea farmer for a day. Wearing a farmer's hat, draped in a Hakka floral headscarf, and carrying a bamboo tea basket, they can pick the legendary "one bud and two leaves." If lucky, they might even spot a little green leafhopper! After picking the tea leaves, visitors can follow the steps of tea processing—wither, stir-fry, roll, break, dry, sort, and package—creating their own tea to take home for personal use or to share.
