Tongluo Tea Factory Introduction
The Dihua Tea Factory, affiliated with Taiwan Agricultural and Forestry Company, promotes ecological education through environmentally sustainable practices and organic farming. The factory features a simple and stylish exterior with a bright and sleek interior design, injecting youthful vitality into the century-old tea industry in Miaoli. Inside the factory, to help visitors better understand the unique characteristics of Miaoli's tea culture, old tea-making tools are displayed, adding a nostalgic feel. A collection of around one hundred tea canisters adorns the walls, turning Taiwanese tea into trendy luxury products. Here, you can sit down and enjoy authentic tea-picking farmer's bento and various sweet-flavored cold brews. Stepping out of the factory leads you to a tranquil local tea garden, where you can experience the fun of picking tea and DIY tea-making! You can also transform into a tea person for a day by wearing a farmer's straw hat, draping a Hakka floral cloth scarf, and tying a bamboo tea basket around your waist, personally picking the legendary "one bud two leaves." If you’re lucky, you might even spot the tiny green leafhopper! After picking the tea leaves, you will follow the steps of tea processing to experience withering, pan-frying, rolling, breaking, drying, sorting, and packaging, creating your own tea to take home for personal use or sharing.
