Toufen Backyard Introduction
In the northeastern corner of Toufen City, nestled within the Laoshan Red Earth Hills and the terraced landscapes, lies a pristine area that has not been overly developed. Here, tea plantations flourish, accompanied by the shade of sweetgum trees, whispering pine forests, and pathways lined with acacia. Scenic trails connect these diverse natural beauties, where the sounds of cicadas and birds create a symphony of nature. In summer, the tung trees bloom with white flowers, resembling a romantic carpet on the ground, while throughout the seasons, visitors are greeted by yellow acacia flowers, pomelo blossoms, and pear flowers, enhancing the walking experience with their vibrant beauty and delightful scents, consistently leaving visitors in awe. This secluded paradise is what we call the "Toufen Back Garden." When visiting the Toufen Back Garden, the first stop must be the "Laoshan Rest Trail." This is the newly renovated version of the Laoshan Trail, where the related construction has preserved the original terrain and natural ecology, leading to a design that is both aesthetically pleasing and rustic. The trail stretches approximately four kilometers, with parking lots available at the entrances near Xuanhua Hall, Jinchun Farm, Yiming Tea Garden, and Rixin Tea Garden. Visitors can choose between short round trips or circular hikes based on their time and stamina, enjoying the varied landscapes along the way, including pine forest stone steps, sweetgum red earth pathways, cross-tie hibiscus trails, and acacia red earth trails. Toufen is famous for producing "Pungfeng Tea," thus tea gardens abound within the Back Garden, with every tea house proudly displaying a stone tablet that reads "Toufen Back Garden," indicating that you are in this area rich in pastoral charm. "Pungfeng Tea," also known as "Oriental Beauty Tea," is cherished for its unique flavor by tea enthusiasts. After hiking or walking among the trees, it’s a perfect moment to relax and enjoy a cup of fine tea. Places like the historic Hakka three-section courtyard of the Xu family, the red brick tea house at Yiming Tea Garden, the tranquil Tang-style courtyard tea house, and Jinchun Farm all radiate a rich cultural atmosphere that perfectly embodies the serene sentiments one seeks while savoring Chinese tea.
