Kaihuasi Temple, formerly known as Guanyin Pavilion, was built in the second year of the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty (1724) by the first county magistrate of Changhua County, Tan Jingzheng.

Main Deity: Guanyin Buddha Historical Development: Kaohua Temple is a designated historic site, formerly known as Guanyin Pavilion. It was established in the second year of the Yongzheng era (1724) by Tan Jingzheng, the first magistrate of Changhua County. Changhua County was established in the first year of the Yongzheng era, and by the sixth year, the county office was completed. Prior to that, it operated in Tamsui County, now part of Chiayi County. Once the county office was completed, it began to manage Changhua. Therefore, Kaohua Temple is known as "the first place for governance, education, culture, and religious rituals before the establishment of the county office," making it one of the earliest temples and altars.
