Majia Township Agricultural and Fishery Park Introduction
Maja Township is said to be the birthplace of the Paiwan people, with Maja Village being the original home where Paiwan people spread their branches. In order to preserve its valuable historical culture and agricultural economy, the Maja Township Office has specially connected the culture and agricultural economy of Maja Village and the old Fawan Tribe to plan the Maja Township Agricultural and Fisheries Park, which is divided into four areas: the Paiwan Agricultural Cultural Museum, Maja Leisure Agriculture Hall, Shelu Leisure Farm, and Peach Blossom Source Leisure Farm, forming the Roots-Seeking Trail of the Maja Tribe. The Paiwan Agricultural Cultural Museum is located at the old Fawan Elementary School, with the space designed to resemble a traditional sacrificial site and a workshop for the transmission of farming and hunting techniques, showcasing millet ritual culture, red quinoa culture, nose flute, and bamboo industry, among other aspects of Paiwan culture. After reconstruction, the stone houses in the area also provide accommodation services. The Maja Leisure Agriculture Hall is renovated from the old Maja Elementary School, planned as a center for the exhibition and sale of traditional indigenous industries, an information center for leisure farms, a traditional crafts workshop, a food area, and a winery, promoting agricultural products such as dried taro, aiyu jelly, tree beans, red quinoa, and millet from Maja Township. Shelu Leisure Farm is a must-visit place for climbing Qiyin Mountain and visiting the legendary birthplace of the Paiwan people, the old Gaoyan Tribe. Here, many ancient legends are told, precious historical relics are preserved, and visitors can enjoy beautiful waterfalls and misty views, making it a journey that combines cultural mysteries and magnificent natural landscapes. The Peach Blossom Source Leisure Farm connects the Peach Blossom Source Farm with other flower and vegetable areas, featuring a variety of flowers such as cherry blossoms, peach blossoms, lilies, and wild ginger flowers. During the flowering season, the mountains are filled with vibrant colors, and there are coffee shops and indigenous cuisine areas for visitors to rest.
