Majia Township Agricultural and Fishery Park Introduction
Maja Township is said to be the birthplace of the Paiwan people, and Maja Village is the ancestral home where the Paiwan people spread out. In order to preserve the valuable historical culture and agricultural economy, the Maja Township Office has specially linked Maja Village and the Old Fawan Tribe's culture and agricultural economy, planning them as the Maja Township Agricultural and Fisheries Park, which is divided into four areas: the Paiwan Agricultural Culture Museum, the Maja Leisure Agriculture Center, the Shelu Leisure Farm, and the Tao Flower Garden Leisure Farm, forming a root-seeking trail of the Maja Tribe. The Paiwan Agricultural Culture Museum is located at the Old Fawan Elementary School, where the space is designed to include traditional worship sites and workshops for the inheritance of agricultural and hunting skills, showcasing the millet worship culture, red quinoa culture, nose flute, and bamboo industry among other aspects of Paiwan culture. The stone slab houses in the area have been reconstructed and also offer accommodation services. The Maja Leisure Agriculture Center has been transformed from the Old Maja Elementary School and is planned as a traditional indigenous industry exhibition and sales center, a leisure farm information center, a traditional crafts workshop, a food workshop, and a winery, to promote agricultural products from Maja Township such as taro chips, aiyu jelly, tree beans, red quinoa, and millet. The Shelu Leisure Farm is a must-visit spot for climbing Qiyanshan Mountain and exploring the legendary birthplace of the Paiwan people at the Old Gaoyan Tribe. There are many ancient legends here, as well as precious historical relics, and visitors can enjoy beautiful waterfalls and mist, making it a journey that combines cultural mystery and the grandeur of nature. The Tao Flower Garden Leisure Farm connects the Tao Flower Garden and other flower and fruit zones. The garden is planted with many flowers, such as cherry blossoms, peach blossoms, lilies, and wild ginger flowers. During the flowering season, the mountains are beautifully adorned with a myriad of colors. There are also a coffee house and an indigenous food area for visitors to relax.
