Majia Township Agricultural and Fisheries Park Introduction
Maja Township is said to be the birthplace of the Paiwan people, with Maja Village being the original home of the Paiwan people. In order to preserve the valuable historical culture and agricultural economy, the Maja Township Office has specially connected Maja Village and the old Fawan tribe's culture and agricultural economy, planning it as the Maja Township Agricultural and Fisheries Park. This park is divided into four areas: the Paiwan Agricultural Culture Museum, the Maja Leisure Agricultural Museum, the Shelu Leisure Farm, and the Peach Blossom Source Leisure Farm, forming the root-seeking trail of the Maja tribe. The Paiwan Agricultural Culture Museum is located at the old Fawan Elementary School. The museum space is designed to showcase traditional ceremony grounds and workshops for the transmission of agricultural and hunting skills, exhibiting the millet festival culture, red quinoa culture, nose flute, and bamboo industry among other Paiwan cultures. After reconstruction, the stone houses in the area also provide accommodation services. The Maja Leisure Agricultural Museum has been renovated from the old Maja Elementary School and is planned as a sales center for traditional indigenous industries, a leisure farm information center, a traditional craft workshop, a gourmet area, and a winery to promote agricultural products from Maja Township, such as dried taro, jelly, tree beans, red quinoa, and millet. The Shelu Leisure Farm is a must-visit site when climbing Mount Qi-Yan and exploring the legendary birthplace of the Paiwan people, the old Gaoyan tribe. Many ancient legends are told here, and precious historical relics remain. Visitors can admire waterfalls and the beauty of clouds and mist, making it a journey that combines cultural mysteries and the grandeur of nature in the mountains. The Peach Blossom Source Leisure Farm connects the Peach Blossom Source Farm and other floral and vegetable areas, featuring many flowers such as cherry blossoms, peach blossoms, lilies, and wild ginger flowers. During blossom season, the area is beautifully adorned with vibrant colors, and there is also a coffee house and an indigenous food area for visitors to rest.
