Paiwan Three Treasures Craft Museum Introduction
On a chance occasion, the father of Paiwan glass beads, Wu Mas, realized that while he had been preoccupied with the life of the Han people, he had forgotten that the glass bead culture within his tribe was worthy of study. He began to research the long-lost techniques of glass bead making. After several years of effort, he finally discovered a special formula for the crystal soil and developed a way to replicate the glass bead strings. Not only did this pave a path for cultural entrepreneurship within the tribe, but what he felt truly grateful for was the women of the tribe. From then on, these bead strings, which symbolize status and identity, returned to the cultural life of weddings, allowing the fragmented culture to be gradually reconnected.
