Linares Tribe Introduction
The Linari Tribe is located in Majia Township, Pingtung, surrounded by mountains and forests, offering a wide view of the northern Pingtung Plain, breathtakingly beautiful. In 2009, the Morakot disaster severely affected the three townships of northern Pingtung. The government assisted residents in rebuilding their homes and selected the Majia Farm as the permanent housing base, relocating residents from the neighboring villages of Dashar Village in Sandimen Township, Maju Village in Majia Township, and Haocha Village in Wutai Township. The permanent houses were established with aid from World Vision and named the "Linari" Tribe, meaning "a place where we walk together, everyone goes there together." Strolling through the tribe, one can discover churches located in all directions, each with a unique architectural style, making them a major feature of the area and symbolizing the residents' piety. Accompanying travelers are the indigenous handicrafts visible everywhere, representing the precious lily and featuring totems of the origin, such as the many-banded krait. Within the tribe is Changrong Lily Elementary School, with a very lively and cute architectural style. The corridors are filled with many unique installations, such as an interactive maze, an open piano space, and various little ideas waiting for visitors to explore. It is recommended to stay for at least half a day to visit the tribal shopping street, Red Quinoa Story House, tribal workshop, tourist center, and Changrong Lily Elementary School, or to book a package tour directly with the community development association.
