Linares Tribe Introduction
The Linari Tribe is located in Maijia Township, Pingtung County, surrounded by mountains and forests, offering a wide view of the Pingtung North Plain, which is truly breathtaking. In 2009, the devastating Morakot typhoon heavily impacted three townships in the northern part of Pingtung. The government assisted residents in rebuilding their homes and selected the Maijia Farm as the permanent housing base, relocating residents from the neighboring villages of Dashu Village in Sandimen Township, Majiac Village in Maijia Township, and Haocha Village in Wutai Township to this site. World Vision assisted in building permanent houses, naming the settlement "Linari," which means "a place where we walk together, a place where everyone goes together." Within the tribe, one can discover churches located all around, each with a unique architectural style, which is a major feature of the area and symbolizes the residents' piety. Accompanying the footsteps of travelers are indigenous handicrafts found everywhere, representing precious lilies and totem images of the origin, such as the hundred-step snake. The Changrong Lily Elementary School within the tribe has a lively and cute style, with many unique installations along its corridors, such as an interactive maze, open piano spaces, and various little surprises waiting for visitors to discover. It is recommended to stay here for more than half a day to visit attractions such as the tribe's shopping street, the Red Quinoa Story House, the tribe's workshop, the visitor center, and Changrong Lily Elementary School, or directly book a package tour through the community development association.
