Chihshang Floating Waterway Introduction
The Chishang Huanzhun Bicycle Path is planned and designed by the Hualien-Taitung National Scenic Area Administration. It is 8 kilometers long, with various cycling routes along the way. The terrain is gentle, with an elevation difference of about 5 meters. The path offers a breathtaking view of expansive farmlands and features several scenic spots where visitors can appreciate the characteristic landscapes of Chishang, including lush fields and beautiful rural scenery. The large and small waterwheels next to the floating irrigation canal exude an ancient charm, reminiscent of the simple rural life of the 1940s and 1950s. There are also rest pavilions where cyclists can stop and take a break, making it a great place for a leisurely bike ride and a deep exploration of parts of Chishang Township. The floating irrigation canal in Chishang is currently listed as a "historical building" in Taitung County. The bicycle path follows the terrain and the existing country roads, combining the wide-field scenery with the local culture of Chishang. It is meticulously planned and constructed, featuring two main routes, A1 and A2, as well as several branch routes that travel through the rice production areas and more challenging mountainous paths.
