Chi-Siang Floating Ponds Introduction
The Chihshang Huanzhun Bicycle Path is planned and designed by the Hualien-Taitung National Scenic Area Administration. Along the route, there are multiple different cycling paths with a gentle surface and a height difference of about 5 meters. The scenery features vast agricultural landscapes with picturesque views, allowing visitors to enjoy the typical sights of Chihshang, including lush fields and beautiful rural landscapes. The ancient waterwheels by the floating irrigation canal add to the charm, resembling a simple rural village from the 1940s and 50s. There are also resting pavilions where one can stop and take a break, making it a great place for a leisurely bicycle tour, akin to a deep exploration of certain areas in Chihshang Township. The Chihshang floating irrigation canal is currently listed as a "historical building" in Taitung County.
