Chihshang Floating Rice Field Introduction
The Chishang Huanzhun Bicycle Path is planned and designed by the Hualien-Taitung Valley Scenic Area Administration. It is 8 kilometers long and features multiple different cycling routes. The terrain is gentle with an elevation difference of about 5 meters. Along the route, there are expansive agricultural landscapes, multiple scenic spots, and typical views of Chishang's lush green fields and picturesque rural scenery. The ancient waterwheels beside the floating irrigation channels evoke a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of the simple rural life of the 1940s and 1950s. There are also resting pavilions where one can stop and take a break, making it a perfect place for a leisurely bike ride that also serves as an in-depth tour of certain areas in Chishang Township. The floating irrigation channels are currently listed as "Historical Buildings" by Taitung County. The Huanzhun Bicycle Path is meticulously planned to align with the terrain and the existing rural paths, as well as the vibrant cultural landscape of Chishang Township, connecting the main route A1, A2, and two branch lines that pass through the rice-producing areas and more challenging mountain routes.
