Chishang Floating Irrigation System Introduction
The Chishang Huanzhun Bicycle Path is designed and planned by the Huadong Valley Scenic Area Management Office, with a total length of 8 kilometers. Along the way, there are several different cycling routes with a gentle surface and an elevation difference of about 5 meters. The route offers breathtaking views of expansive farmland, and there are multiple scenic spots where visitors can enjoy typical Chishang landscapes featuring lush green fields and beautiful pastoral sceneries. The old waterwheels beside the floating irrigation channels exude nostalgia, reminiscent of the simple rural life of the 1940s and 1950s. There are also resting pavilions where one can stop and take a break, making it a perfect place for a leisurely bike ride and also a way to experience an in-depth journey through certain areas of Chishang Township. The floating irrigation channels are currently listed as a "historical building" in Taitung County. The floating irrigation circular bicycle path is meticulously planned and constructed, following the terrain, original countryside roads, and the vast agricultural landscapes, integrating the local culture of Chishang Township. It consists of two main routes: the main routes A1 and A2, and two branch routes, traversing both the rice-producing areas of Chishang and the more challenging mountainous paths.
