Lanyu Lighthouse Introduction

Lanyu has two lighthouses, old and new. The old lighthouse is located at Kaiyuan Harbor. Although it has been unused for a long time, it has recently been equipped with railings, allowing visitors to easily reach it along the path. Its small and cute tower has made this place a popular photo spot. The new lighthouse is situated on the hilltop on the northwest side of Lanyu, and it is the highest lighthouse in Taiwan. The path to the Lanyu lighthouse is hidden in a corner of the circular highway and can easily be overlooked. This bumpy and narrow path is lined with miscanthus grass growing as tall as a person. Because the road is difficult to navigate, there is a sign at the entrance warning "No motor vehicles allowed." If you wish to visit, be mindful of your safety. Along the way to the top, you can casually admire the magnificent mountain and sea views; the cover of singer Chen Jianian's album "Earth" was taken along this path. The green fields, roads, blue sky, and mountains create a beautiful landscape painted by nature. As you gain altitude, the road and the vehicles on it become smaller, eventually resembling model toys, paired with clear coastal lines, and the sweat of your climb is whisked away by the wind along with everyday worries.
