Lanyu Lighthouse Introduction
Lanyu has two lighthouses, old and new. The old lighthouse is located at Kaiyuan Harbor. Although it has been abandoned for a long time, it has recently been equipped with railings, allowing visitors to easily reach it along the trail. Its small and cute structure has made it a popular spot for photos. The new lighthouse is situated at the top of a hill on the northwest side of Lanyu and is the highest lighthouse in Taiwan. The path to Lanyu Lighthouse is hidden in a small corner of the Circular Road, and one might accidentally pass it by. This path is bumpy and narrow, flanked by cogon grass that grows as tall as a person. Because the road is difficult to walk, there is a sign at the entrance warning "No entry for motor vehicles," so visitors should pay attention to their own safety. While climbing to the top, one can enjoy magnificent mountain and sea views; the album cover of singer Chen Jianian's "The Earth" was taken along this route. Green fields, roads, blue skies, and mountains create a beautiful landscape painted by nature. As the altitude increases, the vehicles and people on the road become smaller, resembling toy models, complemented by clear coastline lines. The sweat from the climb is also swept away by the wind along with daily worries. More travel tips for Lanyu.
