Lanyu Lighthouse Introduction

Lanyu has two lighthouses, old and new. The old lighthouse is located at Kaiyuan Harbor. Although it has been decommissioned for a long time, it has recently been fitted with guardrails, allowing visitors to easily reach it via a path. Its small and cute tower makes it a popular spot for photos. The new lighthouse is situated at the top of a hill on the northwest side of Lanyu and is the highest lighthouse in Taiwan. The path to the Lanyu Lighthouse is tucked away in a small corner of the circumference road and can easily be missed. This path is bumpy and narrow, flanked by grass taller than a person. Due to the difficult conditions, a sign has been placed at the entrance warning that "motor vehicles are prohibited." Visitors should be mindful of their own safety if they wish to go. Along the way to the top, one can enjoy the stunning mountain and ocean views; the cover of singer Chen Jianian's album "The Earth" was shot along this path. The green fields, road, blue sky, and mountains create a beautiful landscape painted by nature. As the elevation increases, the road and the people and vehicles on it become smaller, resembling miniature toys, paired with clear coastal lines, making the sweat from the climb fade away with everyday worries in the breeze.
