Guanshan American School Introduction
Guanshan Rice Institute is located along Taiwan Highway 9. Originally an old rice mill, the three-story space has been transformed into an activity base for the Guanshan Farmers' Association to promote and sell Guanshan rice. The exterior of the Guanshan Rice Institute is a colorful painted building, while the interior features an agricultural product exhibition center, a DIY rice food classroom, and a rice culture museum. In addition to showcasing various local agricultural products, such as Guanshan rice, rice snacks, and rice desserts, the fresh delicacies made on-site are also very popular among tourists, such as the traditional bowl rice, which not only uses Guanshan rice but also incorporates seasonal local vegetables and meats. The experience aims to allow visiting tourists to enjoy the delicious agricultural products that Guanshan farmers take pride in. Moreover, cooking classes can be booked, where participants can be guided by instructors to create delicious dishes using local Taiwanese ingredients. Activities such as rice-making experiences and agricultural activities allow participants to engage in rice production and crop harvesting, providing a deeper understanding of the hard work behind food production, while the process is fresh and fun, receiving positive feedback from both adults and children.
