Huayan Bay Introduction
Located in Taimali Township, the Dawn Memorial Park along the Southern Cross-Island Highway is a popular spot for many visitors who come to cheer and welcome the first light of the New Year every January 1st. Its beautiful coastal scenery is also a charming aspect; however, beyond the Dawn Memorial Park lies a lesser-known bay that also boasts stunning coastal views, called Huayuan Bay. As the name suggests, turning onto the road by the coast leads into Huayuan Village in Taimali Township. Nestled between the Central Mountain Range and the Pacific Ocean, this spot is an excellent place to watch the sunrise. On clear days, one can also glimpse Green Island and Orchid Island. With its blue seas and skies, complemented by the smooth sandy beaches, visitors can enjoy the tropical atmosphere of the South without needing to travel abroad. To facilitate travelers, there are temporary parking areas and pavilions along the Southern Cross-Island Highway. The beach also features heart-shaped signboards and the word "peace," hoping to attract people to pause and appreciate the beauty unique to this area. If time permits, visitors can take photos at the nearby Coconut Grove Avenue, which is only a short 100 meters long. The coconut trees lining the sides enhance the dazzling ocean scenery, making this spot a new hidden gem for filming along the Southern Cross-Island Highway. Many photography enthusiasts have named this place "Coconut Sea Avenue."
