Huayuan Bay Introduction
Located in Taimali Township, the First Light Memorial Park on the Southern Cross-Island Highway attracts many visitors every New Year's Day who cheer and wait for the first light of the new year. Its beautiful coastal scenery is also a charming aspect. However, beyond the memorial park, there is a lesser-known bay that equally features stunning coastal beauty, known as Huayuankeng Bay. As the name implies, the road by the coast leads to Huayuan Village in Taimali Township, situated between the Central Mountain Range and the Pacific Ocean. It is an excellent spot for watching sunrises, and on clear days, Green Island and Orchid Island can also be seen. With the blue sea and sky, combined with a pristine beach, one can enjoy the tropical atmosphere of the South without leaving the country. To facilitate visitors, a temporary parking lot and pavilions are set up along the Southern Cross-Island Highway, and on the beach, there are heart-shaped signboards and the word "Peace" to attract people to stop and appreciate the beauty here. If time permits, visitors can also take photos at the nearby Coconut Grove Avenue. Although it is only a short 100 meters, the coconut trees lining both sides against the azure sea make it a new scenic spot for photography enthusiasts, who have named this place "Coconut Sea Avenue."
