Hua-Yuan Bay Introduction
Located in Taimali Township along the Southern Cross-Island Highway, the First Light Memorial Park is a popular destination for many visitors who gather to cheer and wait for the first light of the New Year every January 1st. The beautiful coastal scenery is a captivating part of the experience. However, outside the First Light Memorial Park lies a lesser-known bay with equally enchanting coastal beauty, named Huayuan Bay. As the name suggests, the road along the coast leads to Huayuan Village in Taimali Township, located between the Central Mountain Range and the Pacific Ocean. It is an excellent spot to watch the sunrise, and on clear days, Green Island and Orchid Island can be seen in the distance. The azure sea and sky, along with the pristine sandy beach, offer a taste of tropical vibes without needing to travel abroad. For the convenience of travelers, there is a temporary parking lot and pavilions along the Southern Cross-Island Highway. On the beach, heart-shaped signboards and the word "Peace" are set up to encourage visitors to pause and appreciate the beauty of the place. If you have time, you can also take photos at the nearby Coconut Tree Avenue. Although it is only a short 100 meters long, the coconut trees lining both sides, paired with the stunning blue sea, make it a new hidden gem for photography on the Southern Cross-Island Highway, affectionately named "Coconut Sea Avenue" by many photography enthusiasts.
