Located in Taimali, the Huayuanshuguang Viewing Platform has been the newest secret spot for watching sunrises and ocean views in Taitung since its opening in 2021, following the Duliang Station. The spacious platform provides a panoramic view of the M-shaped Huayuan Bay, allowing visitors to overlook the traffic on the Nanhui Railway and Highway 9 below. The dynamic sight of trains and the tranquil Pacific Ocean create a picturesque scene straight out of a postcard. Nearby, there are also popular photo spots that allow for a comprehensive appreciation of Taitung's blue ocean. For train enthusiasts, this spot offers an excellent view of the sunrise over the ocean and the railway. From the platform, the orange colors of the Tze-Chiang Limited Express or the red and white Puyuma Express trains are beautifully complemented by the green mountains in the distance, forming a graceful arc. The clear blue sky and fluffy white clouds above contrast with the expansive and deep Pacific Ocean below. On clear days, one can even catch a glimpse of Green Island in the distance, providing an excellent view. It is recommended for photography enthusiasts to check the train schedule in advance and visit at the right time to capture stunning images of the ocean, sky, trains, and roads.
