Hua Yuan Sunrise Viewing Platform Introduction
Located in Taimali, the Huayuan Sunrise Viewing Platform has become the newest secret spot in Taitung for watching sunrises and ocean views since its opening in 2021, following the Dulai Station. The expansive platform offers a panoramic view of the M-shaped Huayuan Bay, as well as a bird's-eye view of the traffic on the South Link Railway and Provincial Highway 9. The dynamic imagery of passing trains against the serene Pacific Ocean resembles a picturesque postcard. Nearby, there are more photo spots that allow for a comprehensive appreciation of Taitung's blue ocean. A favorite among railway enthusiasts, it provides an excellent view of the sunrise seascape and the railway. From the platform, whether it's the orange train head of the Tze-Chiang Express or the red and white Puyuma train, the vividly colored trains create a beautiful arc with the nearby green mountains. The clear blue sky and fluffy white clouds complement the vast and deep Pacific Ocean below. On clear days, looking out over the sea, one can even see the outline of Green Island in the distance, offering great visibility. It is recommended for photography enthusiasts to check the train schedule in advance to capture stunning photos of the sea, sky, trains, and roads at the right moment. The colorful TAIMALI landmark is also perfect for taking pictures. Apart from the train and bay views, the Huayuan Sunrise Viewing Platform offers another angle to admire the beauty of the Pacific Ocean. On the other side, a giant TAIMALI lettering landmark displays vibrant rainbow colors, combined with the backdrop of blue skies and ocean, exuding a youthful summer vibe, making it a great place for groups of friends or families to take memorable photos.
