Huayuan Sunrise Viewing Platform Introduction
Located in Taimali, the Huayuan Sunrise Viewing Platform has become the latest secret spot for watching sunrises and ocean views in Taitung since its opening in 2021, following the Duliang Station. The expansive platform offers stunning views of the M-shaped Huayuan Bay, as well as a glimpse of the traffic on the Southern Link Railway and Taiwan Highway 9 below. The dynamic trains against the serene Pacific Ocean resemble a scene from a postcard. Nearby, there are also Instagram-worthy spots for a comprehensive appreciation of Taitung's beautiful blue ocean. A favorite for railway enthusiasts, this platform provides an excellent view of the sunrise over the sea and the railway. From the platform, you can see the orange Ziqiang train or the red and white Puyuma Express, with their vivid colors beautifully contrasting against the lush green mountains nearby, all under a clear blue sky dotted with white clouds. Beneath lies the vast and deep Pacific Ocean. On clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of Green Island in the distance, making for a perfect view. It is recommended that photography enthusiasts check train schedules in advance to time their visit, ensuring they capture the stunning scene of the ocean, sky, trains, and roads. The colorful landmark at the site is also great for taking photos. In addition to the train and bay view, the Huayuan Sunrise Viewing Platform features a large colorful "TAIMALI" sign on one side, with its vibrant rainbow colors set against the backdrop of blue skies and ocean, creating a lively summer vibe that is perfect for gatherings with friends or family.
