Luyun Shrine Introduction
Luye Shrine is located in Longtian Village, Luye Township. It was funded by the Taitung Sugar Refinery Company and jointly constructed by the Japanese immigrant laborers of Luye Village, and was relocated to its current site in 1931. The original shrine building was demolished after the war, leaving only the foundation. It was originally planned for demolition as well, but local residents began actively advocating for the preservation of local history in 2013. They finally invited a specialized master craftsman from Japan, who collaborated with Taiwanese carpenters to rebuild it on site, completing the project in 2015. The shrine stands on the plain, surrounded by farmland and hills, creating a tranquil and verdant historical landscape. Since its opening, it has attracted many visitors for photographs. Luye Shrine and the surrounding Longtian Village have relatively gentle terrain, making it suitable for cycling tours. Riding a bicycle amidst the breeze and sunlight, visitors can enjoy the Luye Longtian Cycling Path, as well as the Longtian Ecological Village, savoring freshly brewed coffee or Luye tea paired with dried fruits made from local produce, immersing themselves in the leisurely and comfortable atmosphere of Longtian Village.
