Buladan Scenic Area (Sanjian) Introduction
The Sanjhan Creek is primarily fed by the Sanjhan South Creek and merges with the North Creek near Sanjhan Village before flowing into the Pacific Ocean. It is a popular ecotourism destination in Hualien County, situated within Taroko National Park, and its recognition has gradually increased since the establishment of the Bulatan Ecotourism Center. Sanjhan Creek is suitable for ecotourism and river tracing adventures, featuring a deep gorge with clear turquoise waters. The sandy areas along the creek are ideal for water activities, and one can also discover the rose stone, which is highly favored by stone collectors. This type of stone is known for its varied textures and colors, making it a masterpiece of nature; however, due to its resemblance to other stones, it can be difficult to distinguish unless one is an expert. As you trace upstream, the scenic views are magnificent and rival those of the Taroko Gorge, leading some to refer to it as "Little Taroko." The famous river tracing hotspot "Golden Canyon" is located within this gorge, making it a popular river tracing route in Hualien. Additionally, Sanjhan Creek is suitable for observing terrain, geology, and flora and fauna; one can also sit on the rocks with a sketchbook for quick landscape sketches or engage in hiking and photography to discover the various unique characteristics of Sanjhan Creek.
