Bu-Da-Dan Scenic Area (San-Zan) Introduction
The Sanjhan Stream primarily flows from the Sanjhan South Stream, and it meets the North Stream near Sanjhan Village before flowing into the Pacific Ocean. It is a popular ecotourism destination in Hualien County, situated within Taroko National Park. Its fame has been gradually increasing since the establishment of the Buladan Ecotourism Center. The Sanjhan Stream is suitable for ecotourism and stream exploration, with its deep gorges and clear green waters. The sandy areas along both sides of the stream are perfect for playing in the water. Here, visitors can also find the rose stone, a favorite of the local Zang Stone Cultural Group. This type of stone has highly variable textures and colors, making it a masterpiece of nature, but due to its similarities with other stones, it can be hard to identify without expertise. As visitors trek upstream, they are greeted with stunning scenery that rivals the Taroko Gorge, leading some to refer to it as "Little Taroko." The famous stream exploration hotspot "Golden Gorge" is located within this valley, making it a popular route for stream exploration in Hualien. In addition, the Sanjhan Stream is suitable for observing terrain, geology, and biodiversity; or for artists to sit on the rocks and sketch the scenery; or for hiking and photography, where one can discover the various unique features of the Sanjhan Stream.
