Qingwan Cactus Park (temporarily closed) Introduction
Qingwan Cactus Park was originally a military camp during the Japanese colonial period, covering an area of 18 hectares with a maximum elevation of 37.1 meters. The park is filled with cacti, bunkers made of basalt from the Japanese era, and unique columnar basalt landscapes. At the highest point, visitors can enjoy a view of the sea, and in good weather, the nearby islands such as Tiger Well Island and Tongpan Island can also be seen, providing stunning views. The park, created from the abandoned military camp, features easy walking paths with magnificent basalt formations and various species of cacti. It showcases local bush species such as cacti, thorny bushes, and dahlias, along with the basalt bunkers from the Japanese era. Inside the park, there are military relics from the Dajian Battery, an ostrich area, a cute animal zone, and a carousel, as well as three flower beds: Daxian, Yantou, and Jinhuh, along with the Vision Pavilion, Sunset Trail, bunker fortification, lookout tower, and a seaside observation platform. Qingwan Cactus Park preserves a variety of unique plants and has maintained the military housing, observation posts, artillery bunkers, ammunition depots, and drainage ditches from the Japanese occupation intact. Here, visitors can appreciate the rich natural ecology and historical relics. The park is filled with the unique Penghu plant "cactus," which thrives despite exposure to sea breezes and bright sun, creating charming views with clusters of intertwining cacti and spectacular basalt bunkers and columnar basalt formations from the Japanese era. Along the way, delightful dahlias are scattered, and reaching the high point reveals an endless sea view. As the sun sets, the sea sparkles with golden highlights, the afterglow dyes the clouds in the sky, and the sea reflects the colorful clouds, creating an enchanting atmosphere. 【Recommended stay time】 3 hours
