Qingwan Cactus Park (Temporarily Closed) Introduction
Qingwan Cactus Park was originally a military camp during the Japanese colonial era, covering an area of 18 hectares, with the highest point at an elevation of 37.1 meters. The park is filled with cacti, bunkers made of basalt, and unique columnar basalt formations. At the highest point, visitors can enjoy a sea view, and on a clear day, islands like Hujing Island and Tongpan Island can be seen. The park, built on the abandoned military camp, is ideal for a leisurely stroll where majestic basalt formations and various cacti are everywhere. There is an abundance of local tree species such as cacti, Torresia, and Dahlia, as well as basalt bunkers left from the Japanese period. The park features military relics of the Dushan Cannon, an ostrich area, a cute animal zone, a carousel, as well as three flower shops including Daxian, Yanti, and Jinhu, along with a vision hall, sunset trail, shelter bunkers, observation platforms, and sea-view platforms. Qingwan Cactus Park retains a diverse range of unique plants and preserves the military facilities from the Japanese colonial period, including barracks, observation posts, fort bunkers, ammunition depots, and drainage ditches. Visitors can enjoy rich natural ecology while also viewing historical ruins. The park is filled with the local specialty plant "cactus," which thrives despite exposure to sea winds and scorching sun, creating a captivating landscape with clusters of cacti and the impressive sight of bunkers and columnar basalt from the Japanese era. Along the way, lovely Dahlias are sprinkled throughout, and at the high points, the expansive sea view unfolds, with the sun setting casting golden rays over the sea, illuminating the clouds in the sky, reflecting colors of the sunset that enchant visitors. 【Recommended stay time】 3 hours
