Qingwan Cactus Park (Closed) Introduction
Qingwan Cactus Park was originally a military camp during the Japanese colonial period, covering an area of 18 hectares, with the highest point reaching an elevation of 37.1 meters. The camp is filled with cacti, bunkers made of basalt from the Japanese era, and unique columnar basalt landscapes. From the highest point, visitors can enjoy a sea view, and on clear days, islands such as Hujing Islet and Tongpan Islet are visible, offering breathtaking scenery. The park, transformed from the abandoned military camp, allows for a leisurely stroll along its paths where majestic basalt formations and various cacti can be seen. It features a variety of local endemic plants like cacti, Acanthopanax, and Montanoa, along with basalt bunkers left from the Japanese era. The park also includes military ruins of Dasha Battery, an ostrich zone, a cute animal area, a carousel, and three flower shops: Daxian, Yantai, and Jinhua, as well as the Vision Hall, Sunset Trail, bunker, observation deck, and sea-view platform. Qingwan Cactus Park showcases a diverse range of unique plants and preserves military facilities from the Japanese colonial period such as barracks, observation posts, battery bunkers, ammunition depots, and drainage ditches. Here, visitors can appreciate rich natural ecology while also witnessing historical relics. The park is covered with Penhu's signature cactus plants, which thrive despite the coastal winds and intense sun. Clusters of cacti intertwined with the spectacular scenery of basalt bunkers and columnar basalt create a charming landscape, adorned with lovely Montanoa along the path. Upon reaching the high point, an endless sea view unfolds, with the sun setting, casting golden reflections on the water surface, while the lingering light colors the clouds in the sky, blending the sea and sky with hues of sunset, enchanting visitors. 【Recommended Stay Time】 3 hours
