Located on the west side of the Matsu city wall, this temple was built in the 35th year of the Kangxi era (1696) and is dedicated to Guanyin of the South Sea. It was rebuilt in its current form in the 2nd year of the Shōwa era during Japanese rule (1927).

Guanyin Pavilion Introduction

Main deity: Guanyin Bodhisattva Festival dates: April 8th (lunar calendar), June 19th (lunar calendar), September 19th (lunar calendar) Located on the western coast of Magong city wall, this temple was built in the 35th year of the Kangxi Emperor (1696). It enshrines the Southern Sea Guanyin Bodhisattva and was reconstructed to its current appearance in the 2nd year of the Showa period (1927) during the Japanese occupation. In 2003, it was once again rebuilt according to ancient methods, preserving this county-designated historic site in its entirety. The plaques within the temple are also regarded as treasures of Shishi Township Temple, holding significant value.
