Magong Guanyin Pavilion Leisure Park Introduction
Guanyin Pavilion is the premier ancient temple in Penghu, located next to the Youth Activity Center. From the front of the temple, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the sunset over Xiyu, making it a picturesque spot. It has been praised for its beauty since the "Records of Penghu" over 400 years ago, describing the scene as "expansive and tranquil," and is known as the "Western Ying Scenic Spot." The site is renowned for its beautiful "Guanyin Evening Glow." Guanyin Pavilion was built in the 35th year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1696) and is dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva. To its left is the famous Wangchao Pavilion, and the nearby Dolphin Pavilion beneath Jieshou Pavilion, as well as Huai'en Pavilion directly in front of the beach, all form part of the "Four Pavilions by the Sea" in the Western Ying scenic area. Standing on Jieshou Pavilion provides a view of the beautiful sunsets over Xiyu, while Wangchao Pavilion offers a great outlook on the tides of the Taiwan Strait. Dolphin Pavilion symbolizes dolphins in the waters of Penghu, and Huai'en Pavilion was built in remembrance of former President Chiang Kai-shek. Just below Guanyin Pavilion, in a calm central sea area blocked by a seawall, lies a natural seawater bathing area, perfect for swimming and water activities. Recently, a water recreation area, an international sailing competition center, a children's playground, a healthy bike and running path, basketball court, and skating rink have been established near Guanyin Pavilion, making it one of the most beautiful landmarks in Penghu and an excellent spot for sports and leisure activities. It is a top choice for residents of Magong to relax and exercise in the early morning and at dusk. The Xiying Rainbow Bridge is the site for the Penghu Ocean Fireworks Festival, where visitors can enjoy the beautiful night scene of the rainbow bridge combined with fireworks from the shore near Guanyin and Dolphin Pavilions on the nights of the festival. 【Recommended stay time】 2 hours
