Magong Guanyin Pavilion Leisure Park Introduction
Guanyin Pavilion is the top ancient temple in Penghu, located next to the Youth Activity Center. From the front of the temple, you can enjoy a distant view of the sunset over Xiyu, with stunning scenery. It has been praised since 400 years ago in the "Penghu Gazetteer" as "the expansive and serene waves in all directions," and is known as "the beautiful place of Xiying." It is famous for its "Guanyin Evening Glow." The Guanyin Pavilion was built in the 35th year of the Kangxi era (1696) and is dedicated to the Guanyin Bodhisattva. To the left of Guanyin Pavilion is the famous Wangchao Pavilion, along with the Dolphin Pavilion located below Jieshou Pavilion and the Huai'en Pavilion in front of the beach, forming the four pavilions by the sea in the beautiful area of Xiying. Standing at Jieshou Pavilion offers a view of the beautiful sunset over Xiyu, while Wangchao Pavilion provides views of the tide in the Taiwan Strait. Dolphin Pavilion symbolizes the dolphins found in the Penghu coastline, and Huai'en Pavilion is built in memory of the former President Chiang Kai-shek. Just below Guanyin Pavilion, a natural swimming area has formed in the central waters due to the calm created by the breakwater, making it a great spot for swimming and playing in the water. Currently, a water recreation area, an international sailing competition center, a children's playground, a bike and running path, a basketball court, and an ice skating rink have been newly built near Guanyin Pavilion, making it the most beautiful landmark in Penghu and an excellent place for sports and leisure activities. It has become the preferred location for residents of Magong to relax and exercise in the early morning and evening. The Xiying Rainbow Bridge is the launching site for the Penghu Ocean Fireworks Festival, where visitors can sit by the shore near Guanyin Pavilion and Dolphin Pavilion to enjoy the stunning night view of the rainbow bridge combined with fireworks on launch nights. 【Recommended stay time】 2 hours.
