Xiying Rainbow Bridge Introduction
The West Ying Rainbow Bridge is located in the Guanyin Pavilion Seaside Park in Magong City, Penghu County. The county government invested tens of millions to construct the bridge on the breakwater off the Guanyin Pavilion, and it was completed in 2004. It is the first steel arch bridge in the Penghu area. The bridge is 200 meters long, with a clear width of 4.6 meters, and the highest point of the bridge deck is approximately 15 meters above sea level. It features colorful lighting with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, which, when illuminated at night, is reminiscent of the atomic spectrum of a rainbow. Given that Guanyin Pavilion is renowned for its beautiful scenery in West Ying, the bridge was named accordingly. The West Ying Rainbow Bridge, combined with the surrounding beautiful landscape of Guanyin Pavilion, presents a romantic and pleasant view. When night falls, the colorful neon lights on the bridge become even more dazzling. The bridge is a popular spot for locals and tourists to exercise, walk, and enjoy the scenery. It is also a location for the Penghu Ocean Fireworks Festival held in the summer in recent years. In addition to the colors of the neon lights, the fireworks add to the beauty of the nighttime sky in Penghu, making it a landmark for the region's tourism image in recent years.
