Xiying Rainbow Bridge Introduction
The Western Rainbow Bridge is located within the Guanyin Pavilion Seaside Park in Magong City, Penghu County. The county government invested millions to construct it on the breakwater off Guanyin Pavilion, completing it in 2004. It is the first steel arch bridge in the Penghu area, measuring 200 meters in length, with a deck width of 4.6 meters. The highest point of the bridge is approximately 15 meters above sea level. Equipped with colorful neon lights in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, the nighttime illumination reflects the atomic spectrum of a rainbow. Additionally, Guanyin Pavilion is renowned for its beautiful scenery known as "Western Wonderland," which inspired the name of the bridge. The Western Rainbow Bridge combines beautifully with the surrounding views of Guanyin Pavilion, creating a romantic and pleasant atmosphere. When night falls, the bridge's vibrant neon lights become even more dazzling. It is a popular spot for locals and tourists to exercise, walk, and enjoy the scenery. This location also serves as a venue for the Penghu Ocean Fireworks Festival in recent summers. The colors of the neon lights, along with the fireworks' hues, add to the beauty of the night sky in Penghu, making it a landmark for the region's tourism in recent years. [Recommended stay time] 2 hours.
