Guanyin Pavilion Recreation Area Introduction
Guanyin Pavilion Recreation Park is a multifunctional coastal recreational area that integrates history and modernity. In addition to the historically significant Guanyin Pavilion, the park has newly constructed waterfront recreation areas, an international windsurfing competition center, a children's playground, a cycling and jogging path, basketball courts, an ice skating rink, and a pet park, making it a leisure place for Magong residents to relax, exercise, and enjoy the ocean view. The Guanyin Pavilion, located next to the Youth Activity Center, was established in the 35th year of the Kangxi Era and is primarily dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva. It was destroyed by French forces during the Sino-French War and has been restored several times, now classified as a county-designated historic site. Nearby, the Wangchao Pavilion, Jieshou Pavilion, Dolphin Pavilion, and Huai'en Pavilion are collectively known as the "Four Pavilions by the Sea." Visitors can enjoy the tidal beauty of the Taiwan Strait from Wangchao Pavilion and watch the sunset over Xiyu from Jieshou Pavilion. The Dolphin Pavilion, located within the Guanyin Pavilion Recreation Park, is also a prominent landmark, featuring dolphins swimming toward each other, symbolizing the dolphins playing along the coast of Penghu. Huai'en Pavilion was built in memory of former President Chiang Kai-shek and is worth a visit. Opposite Guanyin Pavilion, the prominent "Xiying Rainbow Bridge," a steel arch bridge known for its rainbow lights, illuminates the night with colorful lights reflecting on the sea, creating a romantic atmosphere. The Xiying Rainbow Bridge has also been a site for the Penghu Fireworks Festival in recent years, where visitors can come to enjoy the stunning night view of the rainbow bridge combined with fireworks on event nights. 【Suggested Stay Duration】 2 hours
