♦ Penghu Marine Geology Park Center ♦ The Penghu Marine Geology Park Center is established by the Penghu County Government to promote the geological park, located next to the Third Fishing Port and just a street away from Magong City Hall. The Geology Center features introductions to the geological park, natural reserves in Penghu, distribution maps of the Cat Island seabird protection area and Qimei stone tool factory, geological timelines of Penghu, geological parks from various countries, Taiwan's geological parks, stone material life themes, distinctive landscapes of Penghu, and an introduction to basalt, among other rich and detailed content. Although the indoor space is not large, it is divided into 15 areas, including: "Basalt Display in Penghu," "Distinctive Landscapes of Penghu," "Introduction to Basalt," "Geological Timeline of Penghu," "Six Major Geological Parks of Penghu," "Natural and Seabird Protected Areas of Penghu," "Qimei Stone Tool Factory," "World Common Heritage," "Stone Material Life Theme," "Audio-Visual Room," "Library and Stone Craftworks," and "Interactive Educational Activities." Notably, the exterior of the Geology Center is mainly built of stone, featuring a traditional and Japanese style, making it a very unique building. The interior is divided into many sections, with wooden stairs that lead to higher levels for a better view of the exhibits. There are also many areas designated for children's science education! The Rock Blue Cave VR Experience is designed to give everyone a glimpse of the natural beauty of Penghu. The Penghu County Government has built a mini blue cave VR experience theater within the Penghu Marine Geology Park Center, featuring realistic basalt for the exterior walls and soft blue lighting on the ground, creating the illusion of entering a mysterious blue cave. Participants will sit in dynamic chairs and wear VR glasses to fly through the air via 360-degree wide-angle photography, experiencing the beauty of Penghu's geological landscapes and embarking on an adventurous journey that cannot be accomplished in real life. The mini blue cave VR experience theater currently offers two films for visitors to experience: "Overlooking Penghu 360," an aerial film, and "Penghu Underwater 360," an underwater filming video. Visitors can choose their preferred type of experience based on personal interests. If you do not arrive on time for your reserved time slot, please follow the staff's instructions and wait for an open time slot to use the experience equipment. 【Overlooking Penghu 360】 “Overlooking Penghu 360” simulates the perspective of a tern flying in the air, using drones to capture the Penghu Islands, composed of nearly a hundred islands. The aerial view allows for a sweeping view of the unique and breathtaking natural landscapes of the basalt terrain in Penghu. The film introduces many famous basalt landmarks in Penghu, such as the blue cave on Xiji Island in the Southern Four Islands (also known as the stove basket), the double-heart stone weir and Little Taiwan in Qimei, the beautiful “Yellowstone Park of the Sea” known as Tuban Island, the sea of Moses between Kui Bi Mountain and Chi Island, the most beautiful Shawei Beach in Jibei, the whale cave on Xiaomen Island, and the coral reef ecosystem growing on the continental shelf, known as the Secret Forest. The total length of the film is about 3.5 minutes, showcasing so many beautiful scenes that it makes one eager to visit them in person. Seeing the beauty of the basalt terrain in Penghu leaves a deeper impression of the Penghu Islands as the homeland of basalt and enhances appreciation and love for the area. 【Penghu Underwater 360】 “Penghu Underwater 360” is an underwater video filmed by renowned director Yuan Xu-Hu, who is known for shooting the underwater film "East Longitude and North Latitude." This film uses 360-degree photography and 4K underwater filming techniques, capturing panoramic views of the underwater wonders of the Penghu Islands. The video lasts for 2 minutes and 30 seconds and features well-known underwater attractions in Penghu, including the underwater mailbox, lock harbor, coral garden, Xiji Castle, lavender forest, Dongji corridor, schools of barracuda, and the underwater corridors of East and West Xiji. The film not only allows viewers to revisit the underwater film scenes from "East Longitude and North Latitude" but also showcases a variety of colorful underwater sights. Additionally, in light of Director Yuan Xu-Hu's concern for marine ecology, this film aims to draw attention to and emphasize the importance of marine environmental conservation while showcasing the rich underwater ecology and beautiful ocean landscapes. 【Recommended Stay Time】 2 hours
