Penghu Ocean Geological Park Center Introduction
♦Penghu Marine Geology Park Center♦ The Penghu Marine Geology Park Center, established by the Penghu County Government, is located next to the Third Fishing Port, just a street away from Magong City Hall. The Geology Center provides information about the geology park, as well as maps for natural reserves in Penghu, including the Cat Island seabird reserve and the Seven Beauties stone tool factory, a geological timeline of Penghu, geological parks from various countries, Taiwanese geological parks, the theme of stone materials in daily life, and unique landscapes of Penghu, among other detailed exhibits. Although the indoor space is not large, it is divided into 15 sections, which include: "Showcase of Penghu Basalt," "Unique Landscapes of Penghu," "Introduction to Basalt," "Geological Timeline of Penghu," "Six Major Geological Parks of Penghu," "Natural and Seabird Reserves of Penghu," "Seven Beauties Stone Tool Factory," "Shared Assets of the World," "Theme of Stone Materials in Daily Life," "Audio-Visual Room," "Library and Stone Craftsmanship," and "Interactive Educational Activities." Particularly, the exterior of the Geology Center is primarily made of stone and features a combination of traditional and Japanese architectural styles, making it a distinctive building. The interior is divided into several exhibition areas, featuring wooden stairs that lead to higher levels for better appreciation of the exhibits. There are also many areas dedicated to scientific education for children! Rock Blue Cave - VR Experience To allow visitors to glimpse the beauty of Penghu's natural secrets, the Penghu County Government has set up a mini Blue Cave VR experience theater within the Penghu Marine Geology Park Center. The exterior walls simulate basalt, and soft blue lighting is projected on the floor, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of entering a mysterious blue cave. Players will sit in dynamic chairs, wear VR goggles, and experience the beauty of Penghu's geological landscape through 360-degree panoramic photography, embarking on an adventure that cannot be accomplished in real life. The mini Blue Cave VR experience theater currently offers two films for visitors: "Overlooking Penghu 360," a drone film, and "Penghu Underwater 360," an underwater photography film. Visitors can choose their preferred film according to their interests.
