Confucius Temple Introduction
The predecessor of Penghu Confucius Temple is the Wenstone Academy, which was the earliest cultural dissemination site in Penghu. Located in the eastern suburbs of Magong City, it was established by Hu Jianwei, the 18th magistrate of Penghu, in the 31st year of the Qianlong reign. Due to the abundance of Wenstone in Penghu, symbolizing the academy's cultivation of talented individuals like the colorful patterns of the stone, it was named "Wenstone Academy."
