Confucius Temple Introduction
The Penghu Confucian Temple originated from the Wenshih Academy, which was the earliest cultural dissemination site in Penghu. It is located in the eastern outskirts of Magong City and was founded in the 31st year of the Qianlong reign by Hu Jianwei, the 18th administrator of Penghu. Due to the abundance of Wenshih (literally "literary stones") in Penghu, which symbolizes the academy's nurturing of talents as colorful as the patterns of the stones, it was named "Wenshih Academy."
