Confucius Temple Introduction
The predecessor of the Penghu Confucius Temple was the Wen Stone Academy, which was the earliest cultural dissemination site in Penghu. Located in the eastern suburbs of Magong City, it was established by Hu Jianwei, the 18th Penghu County Magistrate, in the 31st year of the Qianlong reign. Since Penghu is rich in Wen Stone, symbolizing the academy's nurturing of talented individuals akin to the colorful patterns of the stone, it was named "Wen Stone Academy."
