Chung Hua University Introduction
Founded in 1990, Chung Hua University originally started as Chung Hua Institute of Technology, established by Lin Cheng-ze, Wang Rong-chang, and Cai Zhao-zhang. In 1997, it was renamed Chung Hua University and has deep ties with the nearby National Chiao Tung University, sharing similarities in faculty and academic development goals, which has led to its nickname "Little Chiao Da." Located in a suburban area, the university is near Qingshui Lake and surrounded by mountains, offering a simple and natural landscape. Chung Hua University covers an area of approximately 20 hectares, with many of its buildings designed collaboratively by faculty and students from the School of Architecture, emphasizing views and ecological design. The campus features an ecological landscape with a layout that incorporates natural topographical characteristics, surrounded by ponds, water, and greenery, along with vibrant and modern building designs. It includes scenic walkways, landscape nurseries, park squares, coffee leisure restaurants, and barbecue areas, creating a lush and unpretentious environment that enhances the beautiful campus setting.
